Dr. Robert Owen Ruder, MD

I have been receiving care from Dr.Rudder for several years. He is thorough, personable and extremely competent. His attention and approach to my unique medical issues have strengthen my trust in his judgment and treatment as an excellent clinician.

won't do simple wax extraction unless you put ear drops in your ears for a week. impacted or not. simply refused to listen to actual medical concern and instead insisted on weird protocol before even meeting patient. to me that's not a specialist.

This is a staggeringly bad doctor. Avoid.

I have seen a few other surgeons regarding my salivary gland tumor. Dr. Ruder explained all my alternatives at length. The surgery went extremely well. Because he is also a facial plastic surgeon, my surgical incisions were placed where no one could see them. He is gently, experienced, and caring.

My Friend had a bad experience with the manager( very rude and uneducated woman) who hang up on her when she need info. she said it ruined her experience with Dr Ruder and wrote to him a letter but never got any answer so she supposes that the nasty and uneducated woman took the letter! She dissuaded me to go to see him as I need to check my sinus!

Dr. Ruder's office took a last minute appointment for my wife who had developed severe pain symptoms in her neck which needed a) immediate assessment and b) immediate treatment. His staff and office were friendly and accessible. More importantly, Dr. Ruder took my wife's history, showed appropriate empathy, and provided effective treatment injections into trigger points that resulted in immediate improvements in my wife's pain. While this treatment was not the focus of his particular specialty, he acted because my wife was in severe pain and needed help. Dr. Ruder was completely professional in advising us of our options and directing us to a sub-specialist for follow up. The main thing we liked about Dr. Ruder was that he treated my wife in a holistic and humanistic manner. I propose that most physicians in this situation would have said, 'lady, you have a real problem here and you need to find a neck specialist on Monday when their office will opens.' I'll take Dr. Ruder… anytime.

This doctor padded his bill to my insurance company in a manner that I found highly unethical. I came in for a specific problem and his primary objective was to try to talk me into a competely irrelevant plastic surgery proceedure. Whatever expertise he might or might not have as an ENT was overshadowed by his rather shameless agenda to wring as much money out of me as possible. Our health care system is in a sorry state due to doctors like this who are a big part of the problem.

Dr.Ruder is an outstanding head and neck/plastic surgeon. He is also very personable and communicative. I am an experienced physician, and as a collegue, I recognize that he is among the best of the best.

Dr. Ruder prays on patients! I had broken my nose and went in to Dr. Ruder's office to see if any further action needed to be taken. This was my first visit there. I had asked the girl staff that took my blood pressurea simple question of what I can expect from the doctor and she said she didn't know and to ask him. Didn't make much sense, but I didn't bother talking to her after that. Dr. Ruder came in and asked what I needed him for. I told him I had broken my nose and wondered what his opinion was on needing surgery. He looked at my nose and said if it doesn't bother you too much then you don't have to do anything. I said great, thank you and I left. When the bill came, I was SHOCKED!!! Dr. Ruder charged $600.00 for the 12 minute consultation he gave me. I called the office and spoke to Erica there and she said there's nothing they can do since they already sent the bill out. I don't know how the doc is with surgery, but after I was charged so much for so little, I would not trust… him any further.
