Dr. Robert Taylor Schoen, MD

I have been treating with Dr Schoen for well over 25 years! He is bar none the best Dr he is very compassionate, explains everything so you understand fully! I have never had a better Dr than Dr. Schoen. Honestly I do not believe one word of the reviewer who claimed he asked her to get changed in front of him or that he used the restroom without closing the door or didn’t wash. He is literally a fabulous DR! He has helped me when other drs couldn’t!! I hope he remains working for many more years

Just wow. I saw Dr Schoen today for the first time. He was very kind and explained what he was thinking. Asked me many times whether I had more questions. am grateful that my internist recommended that I see Dr Schoen. Looking forward to working with him.

The only doctor I trust! I have a very complicated case and he is always up for the challenge. Always calls me back personally. Can’t say enough wonderful things about this man. He gave me my life back!

He's a rheumotologist, not an Infectious Disease specialist, so I should not have been too surprised when he attributed all my symptoms to "arthritis" (no one else saw any basis for that) or when I found references online to him rejecting chronic lyme, and testifying on behalf of insurers resisting payments for patient's chronic Lyme treatments.

I can't say enough good things about Dr.Schoen. He diagnosed my Sarcoidosis and planned my treatment with my input all the way. If I have a question or having an issue he calls back and never ignores my feelings. I had another physician order blood work and Dr.Schoen recieved copy and called me immediately and mailed me a copy of the report. I dont understand the negative experiences people are claiming . I have never had an issue. I trust him completely

He spent very little time with me. at the end he closed his eyes tilted his head back and made factually inaccurate brief analysis of my condition. He seemed more interested in getting the appointment over with and on to the next patient instead of providing me with worthwhile well thought-out comments. His office was messy and his receptionist was very rude. I think it's time would be more well spent on the golf course in retirement.

I was a patient of DR. Schoen some years ago. I have just moved back to the area and am hoping that I may return as a patient to him again. He is a very compassionate and very helpful Dr. as well as a pure gentleman.

Have been a patient of Dr. Schoen's (as is my husband) for years. He's the kind of doctor to whom you need to give a clear presentation, I always bring notes. That said, he listens attentively, engages his years of experience, considers options and only speaks when you've finished. Then he offers options and opinions. He's never failed us. He shows concern by his extensive knowledge of the his field, his willingness to be a "partner" in treatment, his dedication to his patient. I highly recommend Dr. Schoen. As to his personality....well, that's not what I use a good doctor for...but I find him charming.

I could not agree more with the rating from 2009 regarding Dr Schoen being opinionated! I was given his name by a well respected doctor and I was so discouraged. He dismissed my entire history of 14 year of Lyme Disease after examining me for 5 minutes. Then even after I gave him detailed history and records, he continued to tell me that I did not now or ever have Lyme. He told me I had Fibromyalgia. He told me that this is a diagnosis by exclusion and he is sure I had it. Then when I had to call to get all my blood results he told me he didnt find anything abnormal in my labs and I did not test positive for Lyme. I asked about Fibromyalgia and he said that yes, this is what he thinks is going on. I asked about meds for controlling the symptoms and he wouldn't even consider it. Told me he didn't want to mess with the other meds I was on (for different issues) so I should just exercise or see a psychiatrist. DO NOT GO HERE if you are feeling terrible and need help! I am heading to get a… 2nd opinion STAT. You would think going to YALE would get better care but definitely not my experience. Good luck!
