Excellent doctor. Really cares about his patients and knows what to do to treat wounds. He's great!

Dr. Skerker is excellent! When I fist met him he set me at ease. I was in extreme pain and he never pushed me to do anything I could not handle. Within 3 weeks of Doctor and Nurses treating me I was 75% better. I could not have done this without this team. From the front door to the time I leave I put my full trust in Dr. Skerker and every nurse and healthcare worker that has taken care of me.

My experience with Dr. Skerker was as a Physical Medicine /Rehab physician. It was when I first became paralyzed with a neuro immune disease. He researched the disease and developed a care plan that 7 yrs later I still follow. Great bedside eye to eye communication caring skills.

This was the first time I have gone to a doctor like this and I am not too happy with the results. First off, I had to wait for an hour and a half in the waiting room. When it was finally my turn I was shocked by the treatment I recieved from the doctor. He was very rude and didn't pay too much attention to me. I have pain in several areas in my body and he told me to only pick one to tell him about. He moves very fast and didn't even listen to what I had to say. Besides waiting in the waiting room, my appointment felt very rushed and insignificant. I will not be returning for another appointment.

I was referred to this doctor for a simple, straightforward consult. I already have a specialist who diagnosed my condition, and this appointment was only to arrange the particulars for the procedure my specialist had ordered. I spent an hour in the waiting room, painstakingly filling out the pages of patient symptom forms, med list, and marking up the anatomical chart to pinpoint my pain areas. Imagine my surprise when he walks into exam room with simple notepad. No sign of my paperwork anywhere. He asks if I currently take medication? My mind scrambles to remember (I mention, "I did fill out the form....". He waves me off, tells me to go on. To make a long story short, I believe Dr. Skerner was under the mistaken impression that I was a full referral (i. e., a permanent new patient).Don't get me wrong; he was one of the most amiable doctors I've met. Seems like a lovely, caring guy. But, in his written report for my PCP, he stated that I expressed no pain when he examined me. In the… same report, he stated that I was "too guarded" for him to examine me. This annoys me on two points: 1) I offered REPEATEDLY, despite pain, to get up on the exam table. He said it wasn't necessary. 2) As I mentioned before, I spent an HOUR in the waiting room drawing x's on the illustration to represent my pain. Was that busy work? We're patients, not preschoolers! In summary, Dr. Skerner earns ACES for bedside manner. But, he needs to learn to his listen to historian patients... really hear them (and take the time to study the paperwork HIS OFFICE makes them fill out!). At appointment's end, I was referred to the MD who did my procedure.
