All visits have been professional and accurate in diagnosis and treatment plans. The staff has fluctuated as to their abilities but over all has been sound!

I had to go to the ER to get my psych meds refilled because for TWO WEEKS there was no response from Soper or the office staff despite repeated calls and messages left. I also went in and broke down crying needing help and to be pointed in the right direction because of a relapse(it was an over the counter herb that I didnt know hit opiate receptors in the brain). His response? 'You need to quit it and stop taking that stuff ' and that there were no options in our area. Not only was that incredibly unhelpful, it also wasnt true. After months of waiting for an appointment I was only able to see an NP, who dismissed me on the 2nd appointment. The first appointment lasted about 10 minutes and cost 350$ beware.

Everything said in previous reviews is accurate. The providers are good. The front desk staff (or whatever they are) are horrible- they are rude, incompetent, and slovenly women. They never return phone calls, it's impossible to make an appointment, your pharmacist will never be able to get ahold of them, they will not bill you properly. If you can, avoid this place.

After having moved to the area from southern California I was worried that I would be unable to find a good psychiatrist to handle my odd mix of mental disorders. I did some research and chose to ignore the bad reveiws about Dr Soper's office and give them a shot. I am very glad I did so. He was able to get me in in a timely fashion and was able to fix my medications that I had no idea were out of whack. Dr Soper is easy to talk to and I found myself feeling like I could trust him. His staff are amazing as well. Natasha was patient with me while I figured out my billing complications with my insurance, and was able to make sure that my insurance covered the meds that they wouldn't usually cover. Shirley (the office manager) also helped and called and spoke with my insurance once I tried to get the meds filled and my insurance refused to cover. Shirley comes across as rude but actually she's just straight forward and gets the job done. The office atmosphere is calm and homey, which… makes me feel comfortable. I will continue to see Dr Soper as he treated me like a human, and made me feel welcome, which is something I had issues with in Southern California.

Don't go here! The staff is terrible. Therapist was great but the front staff and the billing department are rude and don't know what they are doing. I got a bill that didn't add up so I had to call and Natasha was rude and told me that the bill wouldn't have everything on it. What?!? How am I supposed to make sure it was correct? And by the way it was not correct. She tried to fix it and then ended up adding wrong again over the phone! Not to mention they try to scam you into paying even after insurance already paid. And Shirley the front desk person doesn't write down after you call and cancel an appt. so they end up calling it a no show and then when I tell them I have proof I called 24 hours before she didn't believe me and wouldn't look at my phone records. Do not go here. Go somewhere else!!

The doctors and therapist here are great but the office staff does not know what they are doing. They threatened me for money. When I refused and got the insurance involved they backed off. I will not go back there again which is a bummer because my therapist was great. Go somewhere else if you can, at least until they replace the office staff.

I attempted to arrange an appt to have a family member evaluated but gave up after trying dialy to contact office for over 3 wks. The line was either busy or the voicemail answered and calls were never returned. When I finally got through to the receptionist her behavior was so rude and unprofessional (complaining about how over worked they were, etc etc). I decided this place is too scary to want to initiate care with that I will look into other alternatives.

You know I did not even go see the doctor because of the complete unprofessional behavior of the staff speaking to me on the phone. I was diagnosed with ADHD about 4 months ago and I transferred schools so I needed a prescribing doctor since the health center at Humboldt State is a joke as well. Since they are the only prescribing office I was not given much of a choice in the matter so I went ahead and gave them a call letting them know what my situation was. As soon as I mentioned anything about my adderall medication, I was immediately treated like a meth head druggie that was automatically going to either peddle this controlled substance or abuse it. Not that I put 100% of my effort to school so I can make something of myself and I was failing all of my upper division classes studying day and night for a grade that someone put forth a quarter of the effort to receive. With that being said I was already put off but on top of the fact that I have all of my paperwork from a previous… psychologist not even less than 6 months ago claiming that I was in need of adderall as well as already taking the TOVA, they had the audacity to tell me that I have to undergo an entirely new psychiatric evaluation (very rudely might I add) since I was considered a new patient to them. They want me to go into that office riddled with unprofessional staff and have me see a psychiatrist that already has the preconceived notion that I am an abuser or a seller? Absolutely not. I ended up driving 5 hours to go see my doctor and watch his face in disgust after I told him how unaccommodating these people were to me. I already hate that I have this label slapped on me with everyone already judging me as it is, but this medication has helped me tremendously and I do not need to be made to feel like i'm a terrible person because of the fact that I have been diagnosed with ADHD. Take it from someone that just dealt with them and was shocked and appalled with the treatment that was received, if you are a transfer you are better off driving where you came from than dealing with these people.

Don't know about Dr. Soper due to the rude receptionist who calls herself an Office Manager. Brought my eight year old daughter to seek help and the office manager not only put me in tears but my daughter as well. If this is how the Office Manager treats patients I can only imagine how the Dr. is. Reading these reviews, we are not the only ones that have been treated this way - apparently the Dr. doesn't feel it needs to be fixed!
