Dr. Starke is my family's breath of fresh air and light at the end of the tunnel during the moment of darkness we were lost in. Incredible Psychicians like Dr. Starke are what make hospitals to be set aside from the others and sought-out by patients from all over. I can't believe we were so lucky to have him in our same city. I met him when my mother and me were so uncertain and scared at what we should do, coming from another well-known hospital in Miami. Overwhelmed by all that's happened and needed to still happen, when we met Dr. Starke, we instantly felt the difference. His knowledge, his confidence, his reassurance and his remorse. And after leaving, he is so easy to communicate with in case of anything versus other hospitals where I could never communicate with the doctor unless my mom was at a scheduled meeting with him. Thank you so much Dr. Starke for dedicating yourself so much to aneurisms, thank you for being that person my family and me prayed God to send us and help us… get past this. For anyone with difficult aneurisms, I can't recommend Dr. Starke and his team in UM Hospital enough. Thank you!!

Dr.Starke was very attentive and caring to my father in regards to his medical care and treatment plan. He is accesible and highly professional with great bedside manner. Just 4 months ago, our beautiful 12-year-old daughter was diagnosed with a sever AVM. Arterial Venus Malformation. We were shocked, confused and extremely frightened with this news. We had never heard of this type of medical condition, nor had most of the people we spoke to. The next morning, we met Dr. Starke, and the team, who would lead us on the road to recover. He treated us with kindness and professionalism, taking the time to explain the condition and the options. He reviewed and explained his plan of action, until all our questions were answered. It was in that moment, that he gave us the confidence and comfort that our broken heart needed in this critical decision. He walked us through the whole process, in tremendous detail. Giving us the schedule for the multi-day operation and the extended recovery period to come. Dr. Starke and his team kept us well informed throughout the operation. It was a very difficult and scary experience, to have our daughter in surgery for 2… days. Dr. Starke, his team and the Holtz hospital support, gave us the comfort and knowledge, we had put our faith in the right team. The whole team support made this experience, so much more bearable. The long surgery was a success and recovery has been amazing. Dr. Starke and Dr. McCrea and the fabulous team saved our daughters life and we continue to connect and update them both. We highly recommend Dr. Starke with our hearts for the knowledge, professionalism and devoted compassion to his patients. Dr. Starke we owe you a lot and for that reason you hold a very special place in our heart.

I have a very rare blood flow issue in my spinal cord. Dr Starke worked together with my neurosurgeon and together they were able to pinpoint and repair it.
