Dr. Robert Sterling, MD, FAAOS, FAOA

I recently suffered multiple afflictions which led to me having 6 surgeries in 2 months. Four of them were under Dr.sterling's care and all were successful. Dr. Sterling exudes competence and confidence and he quickly earned the trust of my wife and I. He is friendly, thorough and decisive. Should i need additional orthopedic surgeries in the future, Dr. Sterling is who we'd want above all others.

Dr. Sterling did an outstanding job of delivering the best patient outcome possible for my hip replacement. From the onset, Dr. Sterling explained in great detail the course of treatment, beginning with a recommended conservative plan approach of – Tylenol to manage the chronic pain and physical therapy coupled with an ultrasound-guided right hip injection. We did not move forward with the recommendation for a hip replacement until we were both satisfied that all conservative measures of treatment had been exhausted; without mitigation of my on-going pain, sense of debilitation as well as increasing compromised quality of life. Once we set the surgery date, Dr. Sterling and his team fully outlined the prerequisites to surgery, the surgical procedure as well as the post-operative expectations including physical therapy, elevation, the icing regime, movement as tolerated and the pharmacological expectations. Lastly, like most aging individuals, I have developed several comorbidity at… this stage in life. I was particularly appreciative of the steps Dr. Sterling took to collaborate with several specialists on my care team, in order to coordinate the necessary care. The peer – peer physician consultations Dr. Sterling conducted on my behalf with both my gastroenterologist and plastic and reconstructive surgeon resulted in a positive adjustment to my overall treatment plan. As a healthcare executive, fluent in the landscape, I could not have asked for a better experience. As a fellow Franklin and Marshall College alumni, I would have expected nothing less of Dr. Sterling!

Within 6 months of Dr. STERLING doing the first toy hip, I had to have a revision. The hip dislocated 5 times, with 3 requiring EMS taking me to the nearest hospital. Anesthesia was required to put the hip back in place. Dislocation is absolutely agonizing! After the revision, Dr. Sterling put me on aspirin and Moxicam together, and I ended up with a bleeding ulcer.
