Dr. Robert Arthur Summerfield, MD

Dr Summerfield didn't listen well and was dismissive. It's almost as if he only takes the cases he can solve easily. I want a doctor who is curious and wants to continue learning.

We took my mother into see DR. Summerfield to find out if she had a form of Parkinson's or Dementia. He introduced himself right away to each of us and ask us directly what brought us in to see him; listening intently at all we had to say. He spoke to mom directly and asked her questions. He took time with her observing everything and listened to her concerns. He spoke in length about the things it might be with clear definitions. He laid out a plan of action to find a clear diagnosis and educated us on how to proceed. Additionally; I ask for in home safety and occupational help and he was very supportive. Before we left he made sure we knew when to come back and took time to wish us well. It was a nice visit and we left informed and happier for it. I recommend him to those in need of Neurology help.

DR SUMMERFIELD AND HIS STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND COURTEOUS, THEY MADE ME FEEL IMPORTANT AND NEVER RUSHED THROUGH AN APPOINTMENT, VERY, VERY THOROUGH! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR SUMMERFIELD IF YOU NEED A NEUROLOGIST!

What impressed me the most was our detailed discussions. I felt he really listened and cared about me. His phone call to a referring physician and follow up with me was exceptional. That referral has led me to a path of recovery that otherwise I would have not seen. I am so grateful I am his patient.

Dr. Summerfield was so caring and listened to my concerns. I had seen 2 ER doctors and an urgent care doctor before I saw him. They were quick to brush off my symptoms, but Dr. Summerfield actually took the time to educate me on what was going on with my condition. He and his medical assistant are so quick to return my phone calls and help while I am recovering. I would recommend him to anyone!!

I went in to see Dr. Summerfield with a very rare neurological disorder. He spent the time to sit down and figure out what the issues were and listened to me rattle off the bizarre symptoms I was experiencing. He then helped trouble shoot the problem. I was thrilled to get a correct diagnosis after three years of wrong diagnosis from other places.

Too busy to care if not in need of expensive treatment

They are getting to the point that unless you have a major neurological disease like ms they don't want your business. A lot of this came about with the new PA that was hired. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere because they will just tell you that "they do not do that here" and send you elsewhere. Thats what they did to me after seeing him for 6 months. Now I'm stuck in this circle of the Dr they sent me to is a neurologist specialty and Dr. Summerfields PA is telling me they don't want to see me anymore.

He does not have a good beside manner and is terrible at following up with results and explaining conditions or why he is prescribing certain medications. Did also not get an accurate diagnosis.

Have been seeing this Doctor for a year now in Layton, he does not Schedule Follow up Appt. He does not Follow up with Medications he prescribes, so if there is a problem you have to wait 3/4 weeks to get an Appt. he does not go over MRI's or Tests he orders with Patients, his office staff is very rude, and doesn't know anything about Conditions, or about Types of Medications, but still tells a Patient what to do! not caring to Inform the Dr. with accurate Information. This is not good Medical care for anyone on long term Medications for Chronic Conditions!
