Dr. Robert Wayne Tahara, MD

I saw Dr Tahara for Varicose veins. He told me we needed to prepare for surgery there were 9 or 11 veins that needed attention. I wanted a second opinion. I went to Williamsport where I told the PA how many veins he said needed operated on. She looked at me and said funny. I asked her why is that funny? She said, "That is the exact amount for the maximum amount from your insurance. You only need surgery if your legs are bothering you. Come back when you have pain, itching, swelling." Huh.

Does not respect his patients’ privacy, time or intelligence. He bad mouths other doctors, hospitals and patients. Thinks he knows it all and that no one else could possibly understand or remember the simple guidance that goes along with his simple discipline of medicine. Apparently he couldn’t cut the mustard in any other medical field.

I started seeing Dr. Tahara about a year ago for a vascular ulcer. This office is not like any other. Dr. Tahara is not your typical doctor either. He is very blunt and will tell you exactly what you need to do and how you need to do just that (whether you want to hear it or not!). This isn’t to be mean, he just wants what is best for you. Why else do doctors do what they do? Also, all of his staff are wonderful! From the receptionist, to the nurses, to the technicians, all are very kind and knowledgeable. I have gone from being tired all the time, and having heavy feeling legs, to having a complete 180! Very little leg issues and having a better quality of life. My only regret is not going sooner for my problem. Don’t make that mistake!

Went in 2018 for swollen legs and they way he gave presentation and such was VERY RUDE and IRRIGANT, name calling about other medical people was really immature. How many visits that I went to still couldn't figure out what was wrong. Finally, in 2021 went to a different vascular Dr and in 5 minutes he figured out what was causing my swelling in foot/leg. What a waste of time and $

Dr Tahara is the most self absorbed, rude, vulgar piece of trash. He may be a surgeon but I have absolutely zero respect for him. If I could give him a negative star rating I would. Anyone out there please don’t make the mistake I did. Find another Surgeon!

My husband, a Vietnam Vet, with agent orange problems resulting in constant body pain, went to Mr. Tamara for help with pain. He was a bully from his first spoken word. We were verbally abused with his cussing and swearing, threatened, called names, and put down. He was The Boss and he let us know that. I only asked one question and he told us if we didn’t want to do everything he asked of us, give him a wave on our way out and don’t let the door hit us in a**. I found an advocate group to help us, was given a new appointment, elsewhere, and told to cancel any further meetings with him. I did just that under the direction of my husband. We wanted help so badly that we gave this terrible man two chances with another to go, but we cancelled.

Wow, what an arrogant man. I never experienced someone quite like him before. He would not listen to me and cut me off and told me my question was the most stupid thing he heard all day. What terrible manners. Do not recommend.
