Dr. Robert Glenn Thompson, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Thompson for almost 20 years. His approach to medicine and new techniques is cutting edge. He takes as much time as YOU need during an appointment. His Anchorage staff is friendly and also very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to go to a Doctor that tells you the TRUTH about your health and genuinely cares about you. Thank you Dr. T for staying on top of Women’s health issues and helping women take control of their own health as well!

9 months ago I could barely drag myself out of bed. I had spent 10 years going to myriad doctors and naturopaths and been dismissed for my fatigue and other debilitating symptoms. Dr. Thompson diagnosed me with Type II hypothyroidism and his conscientious treatment has restored me to life! I am looking and feeling fabulous, better than I have in years. Thank you, Dr. T!

My wife and I worked with dr. Thompson for nearly a year. We found that we did not have any concerns with his medical knowledge and suggestions to improving health. However, he does not do a very good job of listening and we felt that he regularly was arrogant and rude to us. He would not listen to all of the symptoms and challenges we were facing and would regularly interrupt and ignore things said. Phrases like "my job is to protect you from other doctors" raised concerns for us. We later on heard from two other families that tried Dr. Thompson and found the same things to be true. Wish we had heard these concerns sooner (the reason I am writing this review). We did see some improvements in health but we also experienced a lot of stress trying to work with him and with his office. Hopeful that the situation improves but for now we are going elsewhere for medical care.

Dr. Robert Thompson cares about his patients. He comes across as slightly like he knows everything, but his knowledge seems to be way above previous doctors I 've seen. He is all about total body healing.

Dr. Thompson was recommended to me for menopause to get bio identical hormone therapy....its a mircle treatment, i am back to my self by using this treatment. Although I do have to go through a bunch of vitamin supplements and other treatments that i have another physician for. If you tell him that you are not interested in only the bio identical hormone therapy you are still get bombarded about other medical treatments, and he pushes his book the whole time. He does keep you in his office for a long time and does charge me over $300.00 for each visit and you do go back about every 3 months for refills and more blood work and more encouragement of other work ups that is not related to ob/gyn. He wants you to get a $200.00 hair analysis and $200.00 24 hours urine collection, to get trace minerals, vitamin, and hormone levels. These can also be obtained by blood tests but he prefers to include these other tests. If i can find a doctor that can preform the same treatment i would go as I… do get tired of being treated like i am a loser.

Very few happy patients are online looking to review a physician, but here I am!Dr. Thompson is an intelligent, caring, gifted diagnostician. His "bedside manner" is brusk and no nonsense. This may turn some people off. He has always spent as much time with me as I needed and his rates are no different than other OB/GYN surgeons in town.I appreciate that his first approach was not drugs, but lifestyle changes and proper nutrition as the basis of health.If you are looking for a doctor who is willing to look outside the box for solutions to your chronic health issues, start here!

During a one-hour initial visit, he spent very little time on why I was there. Instead, he repeated himself multiple times about his book and why I needed it, and how much I would like it. And then proceeded to charge over $370 for the visit, during which I gained nothing. Now I have to start from scratch with a new doctor, hopefully a real one this time.
