Dr. Robert David Thomson, MD

Upon waiting over 45 minutes past my appointment time I mentioned it to Dr. Thomson and he got very irate and asked me to get copies of my medical record and find another doctor for my son since I have no patience to wait for him. Imagine my utter disbelief as my son whom he was supposed to be treating was in the room at the time as well. Completely rude and such disgusting behavior!

I've been taking my son to this location for many years. Most of the time I have not had Dr. Thomson. The few times I've had him I've been very dissatisfied. My son has seasonal allergies. Because of that he has had sinus infections on and off. Several times I've been to see him he's told me that there isn't any such thing as a sinus infection and wouldn't give my son anything. I'd go back and get another doctor in the office or a nurse practitioner and they'd give my son an antibiotic for his sinus infection. In fact my son lost his sense of smell and I'm not sure if it's because he wasn't treated immediately. This week I took my son there because he had a very red throat and swollen tonsils. My son had strep several years ago and didn't complain about a sore throat and ended up having scarletina. When we went this week Dr. Thomson said there isn't a test for strep and said that people have strep in their body. He looked at my son's ears and throat and did a quick strep… test which was negative and sent us home with nothing for his throat. My son who is 16 said he didn't want to go back there. I changed doctors and had to take my son to the new doctor on Thursday this week after seeing Dr. Thomson on Monday. They tested for strep again and it came out negative. But my son has a low grade fever, pus in his throat and swollen glands. The doctor gave him a shot and antibiotic and cough medicine. He is better but still is really sick. I don't think he would have been this sick if Dr. Thomson would have given him an antibiotic when we first saw him. My son has testing in a week and a half and has missed a good part of school this week. I'm worried that he's not going to be better and he's not going to do well. All of this could have been avoided if Dr. Thomson wasn't so opinionated about things and doesn't want to prescribe anything. He didn't even prescribe a cough medicine and my son couldn't sleep because of it. I wouldn't recommend having your child see him. The other staff is fine but not Dr. Thomson.

Dr. Thomson has the worst bedside manner of any doctor I have ever encountered. Why this man is in pediatrics is beyond me. Several of my friends have switched docs and I am going to as well. Do not recommend AT ALL!!!!

My children have been going to Dr. Thomson and his other staff for over 8 years. He has always been a wonderful and kind man to me and my kids. He has gone above and beyond his call many times for my kids. I have a daughter with a brain tumor and we had to see all kids of Dr.'s to find out what was wrong with her before we knew. He was right there with us the whole time. I have dealt with all kinds of Dr.'s for all kinds of things with 4 children, and he has been the greatest of all the Dr.'s.
