Robert E. Tibbs, Jr., M.D. completed a course of pre-medical studies at Auburn University. He graduated with a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1993. A general surgery internship was completed in 1994 at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. He completed a general surgery residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1995, followed by a research fellow in neurosurgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1996. From 1996 through 2001, Dr. Tibbs completed a neurosurgery residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.
Dr. Tibbs pursued a spine fellowship at Wake Forest University School of Medicine Department of Neurosurgery, Winston-Salem, North Carolina in2002.
Dr. Tibbs established practice with Neuroscience Specialists in 2001, where he specializes in complex spine surgery and instrumentation.
