Dr. Robert Stuart Watkins, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Watkins since the early 80's and have been very pleased with his practice. He is an attentive listener and responds to your questions and needs straight on. There is no beating around the bush here. He is direct and to the point. I agree with one of the previous reviews, it you need someone to mother you and hold your hand then go to another doctor. If you are looking for a straight forward doctor with the competency and knowledge to take care of your family practice type issues then Dr. Watkins should be at the top of your list. Don't go to Dr. Watkins looking for your prescription pain medication; he is quite guarded in what he writes and I appreciate that level of care for me the patient. As far as his nurse goes, then HEY PEOPLE, GET OVER IT. Tiffany does have a dry personality but she is most confident in her work and certainly has my approval in the competent manner in which she conducts herself and does her job.

This doctor doesn't care about his patients' health, and he is only interested in money. I went to see him because of a stomach problem. I had some lab exams to detect what I have. His office staff (or himself) never called me to tell me about my lab results. After 10 days I called his office and the nurse told me that I had some positive results and need to take antibiotics for it (after 4 days of my exams, they got its result back). Then I asked her to send a fax to my pharmacy and she told me that if I want the prescription for my disease I will have to have another appointment for him to give me that. I even asked her again if they were charging me for another consultation only to give me a prescription and she said: yes, we do charge another consultation to give our patients a prescription. They didn't care about having me at home in pain, they never called me to give me my results, and on top of that they would have made me to wait longer to have another consultation for that.… Anyway, I went there and got a copy of my lab results, sent it to my gynecologist and my gynecologist promptly faxed a prescription to my pharmacy. In sum, Doctors like Dr. Watkins are of the people that makes the USA healthy system being the most expensive in the world and also a very mediocre one. Please, look for a better doctor, a better human being.

I agree with most of these reviews. The office staff has always been nice to me and wait times are short. Dr. Watkins is a personable, competent doctor and I have been very pleased with him and his office and lab staff - except for his nurse, Tiffany, who has No people skills. In all the years, I have never even seen her smile or be courteous or friendly. I sometimes dread going there just because of this.

I have been with Dr. Watkins for the past nine years and have been very healthy. Recently I had an excruciating bout with sciatica. Watkins prescribed an anti-inflamatory and a narcotic and told me to get back with him if problems persisted. Neither medicine had any affect. I called mine the Watkins' nurse after hours and left a messge that I felt I needed to have an MRI to try and determine the cause of my problem. NO response. That's OK though. The accupuncturist solved the problem and the osteopath will be taking Watkins place. Glad the other patients like him------he will need them!!!!!!!!

I've been a patient of Dr. Watkins for over ten years. The only reason I did not give him 4 stars is his nurse. She is one of the most unfriendly nurse I have ever met. Over the years that I have been his patient each time I visit his office, she still acts as though she has never seen me. Very cold and emotion less. He on the other had is very personable. His overall diagnosis is usually on point.

In my opinion, Dr. Watkins is an excellent physician. After reading about his credentials online, I had full confidence in his abilities even before meeting him and his professional manner did not dissappoint. He is direct, thorough, listens carefully, and has excellent follow-up procedures in place through his staff. I find it easy to discuss my concerns with him and feel relatively at ease during my appointments, even though I am usually rather tense during most medical appointments. I would recommend him without hesitation and, in fact, came to this practice on the recommendation of one of my friends.

Dr. Watkins has been my doctor for over 20 years and I have no issues with him or his staff. Dr. Watkins is a very pleasant person and, I think, he has a good solid medical head on his shoulders. He is direct and to the point. He doesn't beat around the bush when he's with you. If you're looking for a doctor to hold your hand and baby you then you should look elsewhere. If you are looking for a most professional physician that is a gentleman with a very pleasant demeanor and a genuine interest and concern for your well-being then Robert Watkins should be considered. I will say that he does not dole out prescription meds at the drop of a hat. He is conservative in his practice with the patients' best interest coming first. As far as Tiffany goes. . . Hey previous reviewer, Tiffany is most competent in her work. She does have a dry personality but she has always been most pleasant to me as is the case with the front office staff. I highly recommend Dr. Watkins practice.

Dr. Watkins nurse, Tiffany, should not be working with patients. She shouldn't be working in the health field if she doesn't like people. Your front office and nursing staff are the first impression one gets and both are a very poor reflection on this practice. We've been going to Dr. Watkins for over a decade and his previous nurse was a gem. Although Dr Watkins is pleasant and a good doctor, we dread going to see him because of the nurse and front desk.
