Dr. Robert A. Wohlman, MD

Dr. Wohlman truly cares about my health and well-being as his patient, and allows me to actively participate in the solutions. He leaves no stone unturned when looking for the cause of my illnesses and conditions, no matter how challenging they present. He is very good at explaining diagnoses and the details that led to each diagnosis. He explains treatment options thoroughly, medications, and suggested procedures. He helps me to better manage my condition by providing thorough Q&A. He has kept me at ease throughout the processes that have taken place over the past few years. He also took into consideration my own ideas and preferences without shunning or disregarding them, and sought solutions that would incorporate them wherever possible. Dr. Wohlman is supported by an amazing staff that has proven to be very kind, friendly, helpful, professional, knowledgeable, organized, and understanding. I am very grateful and blessed to have Dr. Wohlman heading up the charge to resolve my… particular health challenges that life has thrown my way.

Terrible. I ended up at the ER 2 days after the procedure and haven't been able to recover ever science. It has been 8 months since the even and my abdomen still hurts. I am unable to eat anything or sit without pain. He bulged the rectum towards the right and I am still having a hard time going to the bathroom. The ER couldn't figure out why he recommended the colonoscopy but I guess he needed to meet his monthly goals. His license needs to be taken away.

I have a history of Crohnes. Dr. Wohlman has performed approximately 20 colonoscopies on me without any problems or serious discomfort, and I've chosen to have the last three done without anesthesia. My last flare-up, 20 years ago, put me in the hospital for two weeks with TPN (Total Peripheral Nutrition, I was fed through a needle in my arm for two weeks). Under Dr. Wohlman's care I've been symptom-free for 20 years. Dr. Wohlman is the epitome of a caring, highly-skilled professional, and I give him the highest possible recommendation.

I have been his patient for 10 years - for 3 procedures. This last procedure he saw me 2 minutes before and 3 minutes after the procedure. He did mention that he wouldn't have selected the prep I used, but I was told in writing, that he ordered it and his name is on the prescription. So I don't know who is running the hen house.

My sister works for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Desperate and in pain, I asked my sister for advice. Polling her coworkers from the top of the organization down, the consistent answer my sister received was, "Go to Overlake. Go to Dr. Wohlman. He listens." I have found Dr. Wohlman to be compassionate, caring, and not just a good listener, but someone who follows up on details. He caught the cyst on my pancreas, developed a plan to keep it monitored, and suggested non-narcotic medication to help with my intermittent painful episodes. Before I met Dr. Wohlman, I was terrified that I would not be able to work and that my family was going to suffer. But I'm still on my feet and bringing in a paycheck. I would happily recommend Dr. Wohlman to anyone battling GI issues. He's your guy.

Is a danger to his patients safety

My appointment was on time, Dr. Wohlman took his time and explained all details completely to me in a manner I could understand. He was polite and understanding.

Arrogant, dismissive, and an exceptionally poor listener. Not recommended. Not the very worst experience I've had (would've rated 1.5 stars if it had been an option), but I can think of absolutely nothing to recommend this guy and suggest you spend your valuable time and hard-earned dollars with one of the enumerable other options out there.

Worst doctor I have ever seen, period. Terrible bedside manner, none whatsoever. Caused a major health issue in this patient. Not curable, not very treatable. Denied by doctor, what do you really expect?
