Dr. Robin Marianne Ulanow, MD

Dr. Ulanow performed hemorrhoid surgery on me while I was 34 weeks pregnant. In hindsight, I feel she should have recommended self care to allow the flare up to resolve on its own rather than putting a baby and mother through anesthesia during my pregnancy and the pain of recovery. She lacks knowledge regarding blood sugar management for gestational diabetics/diabetics believing that it is only consuming sugar that needs to be curtailed - not all carbohydrates. She was annoyed on surgery day when I couldn't be positioned flat on my back due to the pregnancy - something I had to have the hospital OB monitoring my surgery advocate for me about because Dr. Ulanow wouldn't believe me when I told her this myself. While I was in the recovery room, I was in tremendous pain and so the hospital staff paged Dr. Ulanow for updated pain management instructions but she never returned the page. The staff said this was "unusual." I continued to try to reach her that evening due to extreme… pain but she did not return the pages from the on-call service until finally around 2:00 a.m. She spoke to my partner during that call and said, "I TOLD HER it was GOING TO HURT" and didn't offer any further pain management. I ended up having to call my OB/GYN instead and wake her up to get guidance and an offer for me to go to the ER for morphine. In the end, Dr. Unlanow had lunch with my OB to try to drum up more pregnancy patients but said during the lunch that she dislikes children.

Dr. Ulanow is the most thorough caring doctor I have ever seen. I had a very very complicated case and I cannot tell you how AWESOME she was!!! Thanks to her I have my life and my health back!!!

Dr.Ulanow is caring and her staff is on point they able to get me in the office the same day i called. she took the time to explain everything. Her office staff is truly wonderful. The girls made it a point to call and see how I was feeling. They are always pleased to help you with anything you may need. I would highly recommend Dr.Ulanow and her staff.

No biggie for a surgery to make you in bad pain and you can't function including with your child for at least two weeks! Come on woman! That is not an option for moms, figure out something else!

Dr. Ulanow is the most caring thorough doctor I have ever seen. She preformed surgery and I cannot express enough how caring and thorough she is. She is AWESOME!!!!!

Dr. Ulanow is very caring, just do NOT have your colonoscopy done at the Anne Arundel Digestive Center. It is a zoo like atmosphere where one is kept in the waiting room for 50-60 mins. before their procedure while the staff is yucking it up in an unprofessional manner. There is no respect with regard to HIPA....drapes are not drawn, everyone can see everyone else.
