I was his patient. Not knowing that he did not take my PPO insurance. No one asked me if I agree or give consent for the doctor to service me with non coverage. I went for the elective 2nd surgery. From the first surgery , I had another anesthesiologist before for my fist surgery , 6 months prior to this one. I did not die !! but I was surprised to receive a bill from his office of over $ 600 when I had met my deductible for the entire year from the first surgery . So I gave the office a call and that was when they said that they did not take my Blue shield insurance. I explained to them that I was not aware of anything like this . Normally we were told if our insurance cover their service or not. I told my surgeon during the consultation that I wanted to have the surgery because I had met my high deductible. I did not expect this bill at all , so I asked to talk to the Doctor himself. Not only that he had a courtesy to call me back, but the sent me to a… "collection agency" . And I called the agent and explained the situation. Some of my friend told me to complaint to the"Better Business bureau" as this sound like a Harassment and financial dictator. I did not want to ruin my credit so I just paid in Full first while I am looking for a better way to tell the doctor himself. . In wonder still if he knew that his staff treated his patient like this with no ethic. Sometimes the doctor did not know. I write this so they know that they are not to treat their patient like as if they borrow money and did not pay . At least they have to ask permission to give the service if they are not accepting my insurance. If I knew from the beginning, I will not feel cheated. He got his money from his patient who he put under the anesthesia and never asked the permission for the his un reasonable charges ? . This is such a NON ethical way of making money. I wish the doctor would call me back and I could have asked him of how he got me as his patient. I never gave any consent to take me as his patient. It is NOT an emergency situation , it is an elective surgery where his primary surgeon already knew to do this because i have met my deductible and avoiding extra charges. My first surgery I had only to pay $ 80.- both surgery and also the anesthesiologist. And this dr Waldvofel asked for US $ 631.63 with Zero insurance payment. Hi Dr and Staff, you have to prepare how to answer this. Not every patient appreciate your service and attitude.
