Dr. Robyn Ann Filipink, MD

I only saw a nurse, and feel I diagnose my son myself, every time I come. His symptoms don't seem taken seriously. :/ They seem to learn from me. We waited 1 to 1.5 hours for the doctor (after weight, blood pressure type stuff) & then got a nurse. I got sent to another section that I wanted scheduled with initially. So now I'll have 2 days off work, 2 drives, & 2 co-pays. They need way more punctual on time, & to send the doctor for serious conditions.

Dr. Filipink treats both of my daughters for Tourette Syndrome. She is highly knowledgeable and has such a gris terrific with my girls. We have been seeing her for three years and are very pleased with her level of care. She spends a lot of time asking/answering questions and has a very positive attitude. We never feel rushed and my girls both really like their doctor. The only complaint I would have is the ease in making follow up appointments (she is always booked), but urgent appointments or return phone calls are made in a timely manner.

We waited three months and drove three hours for our first appointment with Dr. Filipink and I was not disappointed. Everyone I spoke to, from the time I called to inquire about an appointment to the nurse I called with a question after, were all very helpful and nice.The wait time may have been 30 minutes or so to get back to a room but it was not that noticable and with the time the Doctor spent with me and my son - it by far surpassed my expectations. Prior to my appointment I filled out all the paperwork they requested and sent it back along with a copy of my son's file (notes from past therapist) and a long letter summing up my three year old's history, my concerns and expectations. My thoughts were that I was waiting a long time to see her, I was driving a long distance, I didn't want to walk away from my appointmnet and feel there was something I forgot to tell her or feel unprepared. We have moved several times and I have met with many doctor's and therapists pertaining to my… son. With that said, not one of them went through the copy of his file I had given them. Instead they left it to me to explain things and did their own exam. Dr. Filipink and her assistant asked questions and discussed past issues that they would only have known had they took the time to look at the information I had sent them. I was blown away that a Doctor as busy as she was, took the time to get to know her patient before we met so that we could get right to the point of the appointment. She requested several tests before our next meeting, four months later. I thought that was a long time to wait to see her again - but after making the other appointments I realized it will work out just fine. These other Doctor's take a while to get in to see also. I saw one person comented that she order a lot of tests and they seemed annoyed. I, on the other hand, am grateful. Some of my son's behaviors are so all over the place and no one (his OT and ST) has been able to help me or him understand them. They are the one's who suggested I take him to the doctor. I would rather rule out some other concerns than just assume he does things or reacts to things because he has verbal apraxia. I don't believe she will give us some amazing diagnosis that will explain to me why he does everything he does - I don't think anyone can. I do hope she can help me make sure I am getting him the appropriate help (ex: if it's physical and not just part of his verbal apraxia, if it's behavioral and not sensory I take him to the right Doctor or therapist). We were at a crossroad where I felt so completely lost and alone. Since I met Dr. Filipink I feel a little stronger, Like someone is listening and not dismissing my concerns. I am still in charge of my son's care and am the final decision maker but she has knowledge of so much more than I could ever research myself. It's nice to have her on my son's team.

Dr Filipink is an excellent Dr & highly knowledgeable. Our first visit was almost 4 hrs long & second visit was about the same. Now our follow-up visits last about 30-40 mins. She has never rushed us or dismissed any of our questions. She has always shown care & compassion towards our son. Her staff is wondeful....especially Val. I definitely recommend Dr Filipink!

This doctor lacked the compassion needed to be a good doctor. She is dealing with children and very scared parents, and her bedside manner is very lacking. She misdiagnosed my daughter and ordered hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of tests that turned up nothing. Thankfully my daughter has recovered and is a normal and thriving three year old. I would not recommend this doctor.

Too long to get in for a follow up appointment
