Dr. John Francis Mitchell, MD

Dr. Mitchell, actually cared about his patients. He listened, he educated, he has empathy. I’ve been seeing him for about 12 years. Can’t for the life of me find anyone to compare, all everyone wasn’t to do is throw the “newest and greatest drugs at you” huge failures. The ask no important questions, they certainly haven’t reviewed my history and you don’t even get to see the pdoc just medicine techs who talk more amongst themselves than to the patient.

I've been a pt. for 12 years...and have been quite angry with the office in how they've dealt with his recent DEA dilemma. I cannot get a hold of anyone to obtain my records so I can move forward to a new Dr. The phone just rings...no information whatsoever! Where do I turn? This is beyond unprofessional!

After driving to the new location on Cedar Crest Blvd. for a scheduled appointment I found out that the office was closed for good and that Dr, Mitchell was no longer seeing patients. I was so angry that no one had the decency to call and cancel the appointment. The new health care provider is Dr. Rifai. Both doctors made the decision to put all of Dr. Mitchell's patients records into storage. I called Dr. Rifai's office to request copies of my medical records only to be told that it would cost me $300 to retrieve my files from storage. Needless to say I am way beyond disgusted.

Dr. Mitchell is a great caring Dr and for the medical board to come after him is so unjust. Who do they affect...the patients. i am having trouble finding another Dr now thanks a lot FDA

does anyone know why he out off bussiness

Dr. Mitchell has been treating both myself and my adult son for years. He listens well, gives helpful feedback and truly cares about his patients. Yes, sometimes the wait times can be long, and you'll hear other patients complaining, and other times you'll get in on time. We don't complain about the wait times because our time with Dr. Mitchell is so helpful. We love Dr. Mitchell!!!!!

Will consistently be late by 25+minutes to appointments that are set according to his schedule at 15 minute intervals. Other than that he's a very kind and accommodating psychiatrist. Bring a book to the waiting room, it makes a difference.

I have been a patient of dr mitchell for about ten years now. After seeing several other docs he was the only one to properly diagnose and treat me. He listens to you, doesn't talk above you, explains thing so that you understand. Mental health issues don't have a one time fix all, they are ever changing and so your meds change as your illness does as long as your honest about how you feel and educate yourself about your illness your in great hands he is an excellent doctor but not a Mind reader, you have to participate.

Not focused enough on patients. My son got worse

He should see a psychiatrist instead of patience. He's got more issues than people magazine.
