Dr. Lamar and the UCSF team have saved my life and my utetus - multiple times. I've somehow gotten pregnant with two separate ectopic pregnancies in my cervix, a 1/10,000 chance each time. They each caused me to hemorrhage to the point that I required hospitalizations. At CPMC, my former OB/Gyn who is well-known as one of the best OBs in the city was flustered in my treatment. At CPMC, I was told many times that they hadn't treated my condition, and that it was life threatening and could/would require a hysterectomy to save my life. Terrifying. Enter Dr. Lamar. We'd never met, and yet she took my phone call on the spot, in the middle of her work day. She's calm, explains all the details, and brilliant. She made it clear when I switched over that there were many steps we could take before hysterectomy, in a way that put me at ease. She also got in touch with colleagues at UCSF who were experts in my medical treatment (a specific chemo). She visited me at the hospital both times and… regularly kept me up to date on my test results. And, the UCSF staff in the ER, Hospital, and office are stellar. I'm short, if you want a kind, smart, resourceful, and generally brilliant doctor, Dr. Lamar is your gal!
