Dr. Rockton William Hitt, MD

I visited this physician after seeing him as the attending doctor at my Aunt Martha’s location in Aurora on Ogden Avenue. I needed a physical for work and, since I currently don’t have insurance until open enrollment later this year, I was prepared to pay out-of-pocket for the visit. The appointment itself felt very brief about 10 minutes examined my mouth, ears, heart, and breathing). However, I left feeling a bit uncertain about the thoroughness and consistency of the evaluation. For example, I typically have elevated blood pressure, but during the visit I was told everything was fine without much discussion or follow-up. I also asked if there were any additional recommendations or services like blood work, even at my own expense I was ok to pay out of pocket, but didn’t receive much guidance and clarity. After the visit, I was informed I would receive a bill of around $200, which felt high given the length and scope of the appointment. I was also confused about the purpose of the… physical, as I left the clinic without insufficient documentation to provide to my employer. That was the main reason for my visit, so not receiving any paperwork or clear next steps was frustrating and didn’t make much sense. I understand that providers are often working under time constraints, but I would have appreciated a bit more communication, clarity, and engagement during the visit. A more patient-centered approach would make a meaningful difference in the overall experience. While the doctor is a very pleasant gentleman, I found his physical examination to be rushed. I would recommend proceeding with caution; while you could certainly book a visit, the consistent feedback in other patient reviews seems to accurately reflect the hurried nature of the care.

Extremely rude!!

Took my son to Mercyhealth Perryville yesterday evening due to having an ear infection and possible ruptured ear drum. The nurse was super sweet but as soon as the “doctor” walked in it seemed like he had a stick up his a**. Very rude from the start and did nothing but make my sons ear bleed due to him jamming the ostoscope in his ear when he knew he couldn’t view anything from the beginning. My poor 3 year old was screaming crying, if I ever have to come here again I will make sure we do not get him as a doctor.

Just a overall bad doctor

I went complaining of 5 second chest pains twice a day, I just wanted a check up to see if I was alright. The nurses were so sweet but Dr Hitt wasn’t. The nurse took my symptoms and read my file and noted that I have asthma, which I’ve always had. When Dr Hitt came I could tell he didn’t read my history because he knew nothing of my symptoms or asthma. He rarely looked at me then sent me to get labs. After the X-ray and Labs, they set me in a room for awhile then he walked in, never looked at me, and said that I have an enlarged heart, and that my veins are blocked and my heart is not getting enough blood. He said he was going to call the ambulance because I needed to be seen right away. I’m only 20 and I’m in the room by myself so I started freaking and said well, can I call my mom, who’s a nurse. His response was “you can but I don’t see how that’s gonna change anything. He told her that I needed the ambulance now and he wasn’t confident in me or her driving me there. He told me that… He called ahead and they were expecting me so I would be seen right away. I got to the hospital and then they had me wait 7 hours before I was even seen. So for a timeline, I left Dr Hitt at 2:30, didn’t get a hospital room until 9:40. After another doctor did all my test and X-ray and EKG, he said I have a perfectly fine heart and no cardiac problems.. so at this point, I’ve been in the hospital all day thinking my heart was bad when actually, my doctor was bad.

Saw Dr Hitt who knew nothing about diabetes. Made claims about diabetes that were not true. When I saw an endocrinologist and told them what Dr Hitt told me they said he should not be working in medicine.

Extremely rude and didn’t listen to anything I said. He kept talking to me like I was an idiot. Treated my 2 year old horribly and did unnecessary tests that were already done a few days ago. We came in for a note so she could return to daycare and were there for 2 hours! I will never take my daughter back to that immediate care because I don’t ever want to deal with that awful “doctor” again!!

He was very argumentative and slammed open the door when I told him I'm not pregnant and he obviously doesn't know anything about cycles and regularity. Had a sinus infection like I previously thought because lately have been getting alot of them. He checked only one ear so who knows if I have an ear infection as well. And he seemed to have gave me a high dose of my medicine as the pharmacist questioned why it was such a high dose (maybe because he's a know it all) will NOT go back to him or this clinic unfortunately. Now I know why the nurses were so nice to me. Be careful with this guy. He might over prescribe something if he doesn't like you.

My kids have been to convenient care several times recently. This so called Doctor, could have given two rat's behinds about how they felt. He asked my 10 year old what he ate, and said "duh, that's probably why you have a stomach ache" and looked at me like I was a terrible mother. I couldn't believe what I heard. My Son said he was mean, and never wants to go to the Doctors now because of him. We have seen him on numerous occasions...and another time he told me my kid didn't have strong throat, did not swab him either....and 4 days later we were back and Dr. Luke Herman, who is amazing, swabbed him and found strep throat. What is wrong with this Dr. Hitt?! With all of these poor reviews, this guy should not be a doctor. He is very full of himself and just rude. I was surprised to see he had a ring on his finger.

I am physician myself. I went to urgent care for ear ache. Dr. Hitt was very rude and arrogant. I also felt that I was judged for my nationality. He did not answer any of my questions. When I asked him kindly to send the prescription to a pharmacy closer to my location, he said that he already submitted the script and left the room.
