Dr. Roger Gustavo Amigo, DO

My husband had an alarmingly high psa reading. Dr. Amigo administered a hormone injection and gave him a prescription. He scheduled another visit in 4 months. No bloodwork, CT, bone scan, MRI or ultrasound to determine the extent of the prostate cancers progression. After the 2nd visit with the same outcome, our family physician referred us to a different urologist and an oncologist who IMMEDIATELY ordered ALL of the above tests. Due to inadequate treatment and patient care, he is now battling stage 4 advanced metastatic bone disease. Within 8 months he went from being on a crew building homes for Habitat for Humanity to fighting for his life! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE get a 2nd opinion if you go to Dr. Amigo before it's too late for you too!

I do not recommend Dr. Amigo. He is always in a rush and hard to communicate with. My father saw him at a different location every 3 months for follow up visits for prostate issues. We found out during a hospital stay for a totally different non-serious issue that he had STAGE 4 PROSTATE CANCER! He passed away 2 months later. Perhaps if he had listened and felt my elderly kindhearted father more worthy of his time and a proper diagnosis he could have been treated or atleast would have been more comfortable in his remaining days.

Excellent Doctor. Dr.Amigo has always taken time to discuss my medical issues,you are not just another 15 minute appt. with him. He's a very caring Doctor with a excellent bedside manner,we need more like him.

Run if you hear his name. Worst doctor I've ever encountered.

Worst patient customer service I have ever experienced. The scheduling and ability to speak with some live is nonexistent. Takes them at least a day and a half to return your call and God forbid you don't answer and they leave a message, cause it starts all over again.

He saved my life.

Office staff really dropped the ball with a prescription. Didn't call it in. On a holiday. Turned their phones off and no after hours phone service. Cost us HUNDREDS of dollars. That's a big deal to this family. Probably not so much to this physician. Has a real attitude. Not the kind you want to catch.

Dr Roger Amigo is the best doctor I have ever gone to. He treated my Kidney stones and was understanding as well as caring before and after surgery. I would recommend him Highly to anyone. thank you Dr Amigo

I think Dr. Amigo did a fine job. I'm better, so that's a good indication of his work. However, his staff was rude and refused to answer most of my questions. He removed a kidney stone for me (it was stuck in the ureter), and then he inserted a painful tube called stent which had to be removed a week later. I still have no idea what purpose the stent served. I trust his judgement as a surgeon that the stent was necessary, I just like to be an informed patient. I asked several questions of his nurse (such as the purpose of the stent, the process of removing it, the results of the stone analysis) and never received answers. Every time I called with a question, if I was lucky enough to get her on the phone, she was rude and dismissive. I hope I never have another kidney stone, but if I do, I'll try to get into another surgeon. It's difficult though because they are all really busy. You pretty much have to go to the ER and hope for the best.

Dr Amigo has been one of the most through Urologist I have seen. He has a Wonderful bedside manner.
