Dr. Roger Charles Inhorn, MD

At first oncology appointment Dr. Inhorn seemed nice enough as well as the staff. When meeting with team, for education and nutrition information etc in hind site it was very disappointing. The education consisted of 15 minutes maybe with explaining that a nurse would walk me though my 1st treatment. This consisted of here is your anti nausea and benadryl medication, off she went. The chemo drugs were given about the same. Continually asking for copies of complete medical records to follow my own care were not responded to until about half way through treatment. Reading chart and it was not correct with my cancer status or treatment to follow chemo. Asked repeatedly for records to be corrected, as far as I know they never were. After the first few appointments I felt like I was there because I had to be to survive. I had a nurse who said when you have questions let me know, I gave you a cheat sheet. OK so that said if I got a fever to call and if I got fatigued to call her phone… number. Left her a message but she did not call back because she was not in that day. I did not know this, so called regular number and they said that the nurses direct numbers were not given out in case they were not in and could not return a call. Well how else would I have gotten the number? Fatigued was also on the regular list of side effects and more. I told the nurse when she gave me information then I would know the questions to ask. I asked how long appointments would take so I could have someone come with me. The nurse I had said she could not say. I also do not appreciate staff talking about me outside of the office. I would not recommend going to Mercy Oncology. If you do go I would highly consider a second opinion else where to make sure you know what your supposed to be expecting. I hope they are working on fixing things. I did discuss this several times with the staff there and social worker. I know of 2 other friends who have experienced issues with treatment and not getting records when asked or questions answered since I went there or treatment was not totally correct. I also know of a few people who have gone though and were ok with their treatment. Personally I now go some where else that is totally different and there are not problems with things like here!!!!!
