Dr. Roland Gerencer, MD

The Doctor gave me crippling and total sinus disfunction as a result of his mistaken decisions during my sinus surgery. He was to remove a small infection caused by the over drill of a root canal. He removed the infection in the first five minutes. After that he decided to "improve" my sinus airflow without prior consultation. The next procedures he performed were unnecessary, expensive, and extremely damaging. I have total sinus disfunction that I struggle with twenty-four hours a day. The doctor caused a major crippling problem and just walked away. what kind of person does that? If you harm someone through your actions you are morally responsible to use all your effort to undo the harm you did to the patient. Not walk away in shame.

I had 4 appointments and one minor procedure here. I walked out of my first appointment after not having been seen in an hour. Waited close to an hour for next two appointments and walked out of a post op visit when we were informed that he was running at least two hours late. The day after my post op appointment was supposed to happen, I received a call that there were stents in my nose and I had to come back for removal. An hour later they called and said that they reviewed my chart and there were no stents. This is the most unprofessional practice I have ever encountered.

Dr. Roland Gerencer unnecessarily removed critical turbinate structure without consent during surgery. He decided mid-surgery to remove a noninfected conch bulosa. The concha bulosa was NOT infected! CT scans show that. CT scan also show that it comprises 80% of my middle turbinate. That was never discussed. Now I suffer from severe empty nose syndrome. The doctor did not have any medical indications that it should be removed! He did it free and expecting that I would "like" his spontaneous cutting and that I would ask him to remove my other turbinate structure for another $40,000. I now have to suffer the rest of my life with totally nonfunctional sinuses.

Believe the reviews, and save yourself the distress and agony of being treated by this awful "doctor." You don't get this many bad reviews for nothing. The worst doctor I've ever had. He performed surgery on me, and the results were so horrendous that I ended up having to have corrective surgery from another ENT surgeon in Albuquerque. That surgeon, in the first appointment, took one look inside my nose, and was able to tell who had made such an absolute sh*tshow of a surgery on it. Clearly, I wasn't the first patient of Gerencer's to have to come to him for corrective surgery. And if you're looking for a textbook example of medical gaslighting -- look no further. He will lie, and say preposterous things to avoid taking responsibility for what a mess he's made, even if other surgeons confirm that mess. Arrogant, incompetent idiot. I should have sued him for the H*ll he put me through.

I’ve never had a doctor’s office not return my phone calls a few days after an appt. I’ve given up that they will call me back. Dr Gerencer prescribed three weeks of antibiotics for a sinus infection, but the office only called in one week with no refills, and one of my symptoms is no better than before. He barely looked at my CT scan to determine what is going on with my sinuses, when it is obvious from the report that this is not a simple sinus infection. When I asked about it, he just blew off my concern. I’ve been a patient of his for over three years but will never go back.

I found Roland Gerencer to be incredibly arrogant and unwilling to answer questions. He was very late to each of my appointments and didn't bother to acknowledge that. He showed little to no concern for my questions before and after my surgery. He asked no questions about anything that might be going on with my nose after the surgery other than to ask if I had any questions. When I did have questions, he was flippant with his very short answers. I had no opinion of him before being referred to him. Now I can say that this is a person I don't like.

Went to Dr Gerencer after having chronic sinus infections resulting in a sinus blockage and deviated septum. During any exams his medical assistant was rude and didn't know what she was doing while attempting to numb me. As an M.A myself I tried to help her and she was just rude. After surgery Dr G was just really cold and like i was bothering him. After follow up he was very irritated that I was in pain while he removed nose splints due to his clueless MA not numbing me right. This provider really needs to work on his bedside manner and learn some compassion.

i do not think i have ever given this great Dr a review, he treated my unique nose with the utmost of care and he was funny and caring . He treated me for about eight years and performed 3 nasal surgeries on my rare nose. Thank you Dr. Grencer Sean

Hi office staff are the worst I have ever dealt with. Very rude, and sit at the desk talking about taking breaks instead of checking people in. His nurse/tech (whatever she is) doesn't have a clue what she is doing and NEVER ever calls you back when you call with a question or concern. He needs to clean house and get a whole new staff. They rush through your visit leaving you feeling like you are a burden!!!
