Dr. Rolando Toyos, MD

Be careful. Ask a lot of questions. I had cataract surgery. I was told that if I went with a Toriq lens and paid more, that I’d have good far away vision due to my previous lasik. The staff mis-measured and I was implanted with a close lens instead of a far. They don’t try to get it right. I was told they’d offer me lasik to fix, which I don’t want. I changed doctors and my other eye was done perfectly. Also when I asked for my records they gave me and my new doctor incomplete files. My new doctor said that there is no way they could have picked a lens power with the measurements they gave us. If they did, they guessed. It’s also a flag when you call for the records and they put the doctor in the phone. If you didn’t do anything wrong, then just release the records. A reputable doctor would admit that he or his staff made a mistake, not cover it up. Another thing, I still received the bills. This doctor is in it for the money and trying to do as many as he can in a day.… No care for the patient. I only met him on surgery day. That should have been enough to make me not go there, but I’ve always trusted doctors. I don’t anymore. Don’t use this doctor or you’ll risk your eyesight. My right eye is permanently damaged.

I am an anesthesiologist that has worked with many of the eye surgeons in the area. Dr. Toyos is the best. I sent my mother and my son to him. I will be seeing him when it is time. He did my son's lasik surgery and my mom's cataract surgery. both of them were able to get rid of their glasses. highly rec.

My mother cannot not stop talking about her vision after cataract surgery with Dr. Toyos. She can read and watch TV without glasses. She loved the clinic and the way she was treated. She wanted me to write this review. She has been through three different surgeries this past year. This has been the best outcome and experience. She loved his bedside manner.

Spend a great deal of time with me. First doctor to explain my problem with dry eye and how I could make if better. His treatment worked great. I tell people he saved my life because I could go back to work pain free.

Everything good except for very poor follow up from Dr Toyas staff. Dr Toyas does a great job!! But unable to get call backs from his staff about decisions that need to be made regarding the patient. Happened on numerous occasions where weeks went by before receiving instructions on what to do next. This is an area that needs attention.

I have never written a less than complimentary review for any of my providers because I am blessed to have wonderful Dr's but I'm going to make an exception to my rule here. I had cataract surgery over 6 weeks ago and my vision is much worse now than it was before the surgery and I've been back six times and no one seems concerned that I can no longer see out of the eye. I should have known from the start there would be problems. I was told my prescriptions would be called in the week prior to surgery but they weren't. When I kept calling, multiple calls went unanswered. I was supposed to take them for 3 or 4 days prior to the surgery. When someone finally called back the day prior to the surgery, I discovered they were all brand names and cost over $250 bucks. When I asked for generics, they said "generics don't work as well". They did give samples but required extra trips to get them and didn't get them on time and then they ran out. The explanation for not getting the call and meds… the week prior as I was told, was "oh, I'm sorry, she was off and no one covered for her". The Skyline preop nurses were great! Excellent care in preop. But the surgery didn't seem to go well. I can barely see out of the eye and I saw almost normally prior to surgery. I've been back six times and when I asked the tech what she saw when she examined my eye (as I was very worried and still am worried because I can't see) she responded, "nothing in there but your little pea brain rolling around". Not funny! And she said it twice for emphasis. When the tech left and the Dr. came in, I began to voice my fears but her cell phone rang and she chatted on what was obviously a personal phone call and then excused herself from the room with my fears unanswered. I mean I thought this was a very simple procedure. That's what they told me anyway and they assured me complications were very rare. I'm reallly worried. Why can't I see out of my eye after surgery?

I went to Toyos Clinic in Franklin after I saw their advertisement for dry eye, Dr. Daniel did my evaluation and told me that the treatment might take ...

This doc really knows what he is doing. Specialty is dry eye and he has been the only doctor to give me any relief in the past 5 years. I go see him every 6-12 months now. Staff is friendly too

I went to see Dr. Toyos because I was told by my optometrist I had cataracts and that glasses would not make my vision better. I went in for my cataract surgery and as soon as the next day my vision and reading were near perfect, cataract surgery was the best thing for my not so old eyes. He is a great doctor, I really recommend him. Great staff as well, from the front desk to the nurses, they were all so good to me.

I have been wearing glasses since the age of 12. I had lasik and was out of my glasses the next day. Dr. Toyos was great. he is also easy on the eyes.
