Dr. Roman Kovac, DO

If no stars was an option. That would be it. I will try to stick to facts as much as I can. This is difficult to write. I was just discharged from the hospital. If you have the option to see someone else, please do. Dr. Kovac treated me like I was less than human. He didn’t listen, dismissed my pain, and openly disagreed with findings from both my physical therapist and the ER. He manhandled me during two visits one of which is described below. The first time, he had me perform a “test” that required placing all my weight on my arms and elbows despite my pain. Both my PT and I had to push for imaging, which later confirmed there was a tear. When I told him I wasn’t sleeping because of the pain and depression, he mocked me and refused to prescribe anything for pain or sleep within what I can safely take or refer me to someone who would. During my last visit, after asking about my range of motion, he forcibly and aggressively grabbed, squeezed, and bent my leg and knee, even after… reminding him that I’m hypermobile, which can present like normal range of motion but that is very uncomfortable and painful. He did this without any prompting. When I mentioned I planned to go forward with the orthopedic procedure my specialist recommended, he lectured me, saying it was just a sprain and that BWC wouldn’t pay for it. At that same appointment, he told me to wait in the lobby for my paperwork and actually came back out into the lobby to continue giving his opinions about my condition. The lobby. Not exam room, not the back. The lobby. Completely unprofessional. For the record: the procedure was done and there was a tear. His dismissiveness and gaslighting delayed my recovery and made me feel like I was losing my mind for asking for help from the person who was supposed to help me. My pain was prolonged for months, months. This injury happened in early spring. Do better.

Dr. Roman Kovac is not interested in listening to the patient or respecting how they feel. A completely waste of time. Avoid him at all costs

This guy has the bedside manner of a pig. I had to deal with this clown at Ohio Health in Marion. He is the type of person that will not listen and he tries to make you out as a lier. I refuse to deal with this idiot again!
