Dr. Rommel Rivera

Extremely disrespectful of patient time. Always late to appointments and difficult to contact for prescription refills.

I have no complaints about him as a provider, but it is seriously inconvenient and old fashioned that he does not accept payment via credit card or debit card.

After seeing this guy for ten years I can comfortably say he is a quack. He still asks me about things from ten years ago instead of trying to keep up with me. He is usually an hour late and I realized last time that there may be people who don’t feel comfortable speaking up after waiting an hour and watching him walk in, so I said something. This is concerning, especially in the mental health field, and I worry for myself and others who have trusted him. His response was “sometimes things happen” and I replied “I’ve come here for ten years. This is consistent” and he then decided to coincidentally lower my anxiety medicine dosage. He put me on seroquel when I first started going and I felt like I had done hard drugs everyday. Next we switched to risperadol. During this time frame on I gained eighty pounds and had my gyno suggest I get checked for cushings disease because of the color of my stretch marks and the way the weight laid on my body. I spent a few grand to find out I was fine… (thankfully) I happily went into dr Rivera’s office and instead of congratulating me he met me with something he could’ve said a couple grand prior... “o huh... could be the meds”. Not only is my body ruined but my mind can’t comprehend how all of this happened with someone I trusted.

This happened about 4 years ago but I've been too traumatized to speak out. I've since gotten proper care and am bravo enough to share my story. In my time with this "doctor," I explained my very obvious OCD symptoms, and after 5 minutes he called my loved ones and told them I was a danger to them. The time I spent in his company made me suicidal because he was so ignorant of my condition. Dangerous.

Dr. Rivera's wait times are extremely long. I have never waited for less than 20 minutes and the most I have waited was 40 minutes. I have never been able to call his office and talk to a person. I must always leave a message and they call me back. This makes it extremely difficult to get a hold of the doctor. He does not seem to take an interest in really getting to know me and barely remembers who I am. Does not make you feel comfortable and loves to push all sorts of medicine on you. I would not recommend him to anyone.
