My training as an emergency physician has prepared me to care for a myriad array of medical issues, but my passion for my specialty goes deeper than the cold hard facts of medicine. The emergency department offers me the privilege of being able to care for patients and their family members at some of the most stressful and emotional times of their lives. The ER is often a crossroad where life-altering changes occur and important decisions are made. In this environment, I am able to help guide patients and their families through difficult medical, psychological, and social issues. This is why I chose to practice emergency medicine. This is why I thrive with Kaiser Permanente.

My practice at Kaiser Permanente began in 1999. Since then, I have grown to appreciate the almost seamless connections within the group. Contacting one of Kaiser's broad range of specialists is as easy as picking up the phone. With our state of the art computer …network, physicians like myself are able to access medical records, x-rays, and other patient information in seconds. This is often very helpful in the care of the acutely ill or injured. Our group very much takes a team approach to the care of our patients. It is this cohesiveness that makes us unique.

Although the Kaiser Permanente team is large, we are made up of individuals, coming from different backgrounds and bringing with us our own set of experiences and educational paths to improve the well being of our patients. My personal story starts in the San Francisco Bay Area where I grew up. I Attended UC Berkeley and went on to attend medical school in Wisconsin graduating in 1996. From there, I went on to complete my specialty training in Emergency Medicine in Chicago in 1999. I joined Kaiser Permanente that same year and continue my practice in Sacramento and Roseville. I have two wonderful children with my wife who also practices medicine as a pediatrician.
