Always caring and compassionate. Takes time to listen to you and answer questions. Finds solutions that fit me. I know she really cares about me. One of those very special doctors. Her office is busy, but don't let that stop you!

It's very difficult to find a doctor that isn't full of themselves, who truly takes the time to listen to their patients and not be dismissive, and a physician who actually looks at you when speaking! That's Dr. Block ... she's interested in you, the patient...she makes you feel that you matter, that she wants to help you and she tries. And she shows she has a very human side, which is great. None of us like to be just another "file"; and all of us resent when an office visit consists of a physician behind a computer screen 100% of the visit, never looking up at the patient, just reviewing the latest blood work, never noticing all the bruises on the patients body. Dr. Block is not that physician - she notices - she looks at you - she speaks with you....she'll help you.

Though she has a busy practice, she always gives me plenty of time and attention. Only doctor I see that encourages and educates me, without lectures or reprimands. Dr. Block inspires me to do better with my diet, exercise, compliance. Love her bedside manner.

Dr. Block is great--however, the nursing and front desk staff at this practice (Bannockburn) is so bad that I may switch doctors just to avoid them. I've had them not relay messages, relay the wrong messages, make errors on blood test orders, fail to order blood test orders, not return calls, ignore me at the front desk when I walk in for over 10 minutes--sometimes all in the same week! This practice needs some serious management.

The first appointment took a long time to get. Now I know it was worth the wait! Dr Block is great and I highly recommend her. I really can't say enough about her.

Not qualified to treat Type 1 diabetes. Would not return calls when hospitalized with high blood sugars. Shockingly poor treatment.

I was referred to Dr. block for thyroid nodules. I was very worried because it could have been cancer. She was really good at putting me at ease, explaining what we needed to do to find out the problem. All turned out fine and I really thank her for her kindness and her knowledge.

There is nothing but good things I can say about Dr. Block. I have seen her now for years and I have the upmost confidence in her and have recommended her to numerous people. She even diagnosed a secondary rare condition I have in addition to Type 1 diabetes that no other MD was able to determine.

Dr. Block was very helpful to me in dealing with thinning hair. I went to her concerned and upset about this problem. She was able to figure out that my issue was not related to my thyroid but certain vitamin deficiencies. She was so helpful in recommending what to take and how much. 6 months later I feel better and my hair issues have improved so much.

I find it so odd that she has negative reviews - but after reading it's mostly about the staff and wait time. If you're going to review a doctor, do it based on the DOCTOR. Anyway, she's been my endo for seven years and I love her. I Northshore connect message her all the time and she always responds within 24 hours. She's always very nice and seems caring to my issues. She also explains things in layman's terms and makes sure I understand before I walk out the door. I will admit the actual visit with her is short - maybe like 5 to 10 minutes, but I also just go to her for maintenance and have her check my feet to make sure I'm not developing neuropathy or anything. It does take four - five months to book an appointment, but if there's an issue she's always able to give me advice via the NorthShore connect like I mentioned. I don't know - she's one of my favorite doctors and I would highly recommend her.
