Originally from Naperville, Illinois, Dr. Baumgartner moved to Boulder with his wife Jo Anne in September, 1985 to begin his pediatric practice here at the Boulder Medical Center. Volleyball is Dr. BaumgartnerÂ’s favorite sport. He also enjoys skiing and hiking as well as playing the piano.

Dr. Baumgartner received his medicaldegree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1981. He completed his internship and residency in Pediatrics at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver in 1984. As a Board Certified pediatrician, Dr. Baumgartner has acquired a special interest and knowledge of the health needs of infants, children and adolescents by virtue of extensive training in these areas. His goal is to provide comprehensive health care for each child so that satisfactory growth and development is achieved, health is maintained and impaired health is restored by proper diagnosis and treatment. Pediatrics is not merely a …“miniaturization” of adult medical practice, but rather a specialized health science encompassing all the basic scientific disciplines as well as the socioeconomic factors which affect the child and his or her environment.
