Dr. Ronald James Botelho, MD

DR. BOTEHLO is awful. This guy is the worst. DONT GO, PLEASE BEWARE. Really bad experience. And you will get punished if you tried to complain about him.

On my first visit, 9/6/22, Dr. Botelho entered the exam room without a medical assistant. It was just the two of us in the office. He looked at me and said, "Are you Paranoid?" I said something like I wasn't before he said that, now I'm not so sure. He smiled, and I said "No, I'm not Paranoid". He then left the room and returned with a medical assistant. After that he said he couldn't do anything for me until I got copies of my spinal MRIs. I said I had the reports he said he wanted the images. I finally got the MRI images he asked for at my last office visit with him in December 2022 in which I was accompanied by my Caregiver Brenna. Dr Botelho came in with an office assistant and said he had looked at the MRIs and didn't think they looked "that bad" . I have a history of two Lamenectomies for severe stenosis in Lumbar area, two compression fractures in my thoractic area, and stenosis and a bone spur and in my cervical spine. I then told Dr. Botelho that I have Ehlers-Danlos… Syndrome and that I have two types of pain. He said that pain was not a symptom of EDS. I told him that there are NIH articles and other web sites such as Mayo clinic that say differently, he flatly disagreed with me and said that pain and EDS are not associated what so ever. Then he said he didn't think he could help me with anything, and I walked out of the exam room

Do not go to this doctor. My wife was put in an exam room, asked to disrobe and wait for the doctor. When the doctor entered he was sarcastic, condescending, intimidating, abusive,. Her treatment was borderline sexual abuse, we are still considering police action. The entire visit could have taken place in an office,better yet on the phone; it was unnecessary for her to be vulnerable in her underwear so he could be intimidating and forceful. Buyer beware....she was there for help now she is traumatized and unable to seek help elsewhere.

Initially, Dr. Botelho seemed like a caring and intelligent pain management doctor. However, it soon became clear that he was a charlatan and a fraud. I have seen dozens of doctors over the years and he is the only one I have written a negative review about. I have a condition that is somewhat rare, and instead of researching and learning about my disease, he decided that I was a hypochondriac. I even brought in books and medical articles about my disease and he couldn't be bothered to take the time to learn about my condition. Instead, he kept saying that he "didn't understand" where my pain came from. This was something that would have taken him five minutes to learn about. Apparently, he has only been a pain management doctor for five years. Before that, he was an anesthesiologist. He should stay in the surgery room and away from awake and feeling patients! He also prefers patients who get epidurals (as they pay more). Beware of this doctor! He comes off as charming and caring. I… completely believed in him until I finally saw his true colors. I feel totally duped by him and I hope no one else has the experience I had. Unfortunately, I know other patients of his who had similar experiences. He is truly dangerous with his incorrect judgements and lack of knowledge when it comes to pain management. Please beware!

He already has his mind made up without even knowing you or listening to you.If he had his way he would put one of those electric Stimulators in you.Do not want to be cut open again.Go somewhere else.
