Dr. Ronald Griffith Bristow

When I was 18 years old, Ronald (because he doesn't deserve the distinction of Dr) prescribed diet pills to me because, in his words, "You don't want to go into your 20s looking like that"---and also because Belvique was a new pill at the time and he was incentivized by the drug company to prescribe this medicine. My mother was concerned that I had gained a lot of weight rapidly in high school and thought there may be something wrong with my thyroid. After hearing my mother's request for a blood test Ronald agreed to administer the test, but not before turning to me and saying "I think we both know it's not your thyroid". Despite my insistence that my weight gain was due to stress-induced compulsive eating and a sedentary lifestyle caused by being inundated with homework in the evenings, Ronald said to me "No I think it's cause we're getting home, we're parking it on the couch and we're reaching for the potato chips." Ronald's complete disregard for my mental health and his… insistence that I should change my weight because of how I look have scarred me with an eating disorder that I have been battling for the past four years now, I have battled self harm and body image issues that have affected my self esteem and sexual identity. Ronald should not be a medical professional.

I have been going to Dr. B for 20 years and not once during this time have I ever had anything other than the highest regard for him and his staff. Dr. Bristow will sit and talk to you at length, and he will call you himself to discuss your health or tests. This is a rarity in today's healthcare.

Dr. Bristow takes and time with and interest in his patients. He is very caring, clinically knowledgable, and up with current trends in his field. The office staff is very warm and welcoming.
