Dr. Ronald John Dorbish, DO

3 surgeries and nothing but pain no post op help

I was showing up one day to Dr. Ronald John Dorbish's clinic, however to my surprise his hands were covered with hot cheete puff powder. The entire time I was speaking to him he was manically licking his fingers and then trying to fricking touch me! Yuck! Aside from that he was a pretty good guy I guess... overall 4 stars.

Went to him for low back pain. Mentioned numbness in hands and shoulder blades and had the knowledge to have an MRI on my cervical and showed me the pictures of my spinal cord compression. Within weeks he performed a 4 level ACDF which is a major surgery. Very little discomfort after surgery. I also had full range of motion in my neck after which is uncommon for 4 levels. He also did both my carpal tunnel surgeries. I have nothing negative to say about him, he was up front honest with me , spent as long as I needed to answer my questions, his expertise is top notch. I do not feel he is out for insurance money as I also have lower back issues and he told me I need to exhaust every non surgical method when he could have easily suggested surgery.

Fraud, Out for your insurance. IS willing to cut your spine open but WILL not help you with pain. He performed surgery on a (easy to him) area of my back that wasn't even in question! Complete FRAUD!

Out for your insurance. Performing surgeries you dont need. Possible fraud using fraud hardware.

My sisters and I have all had extensive medical procedures (mastectomies, cancer treatments etc) and thus a significant amount of experience with medical systems and surgeons. I work in healthcare, and I can be pretty demanding. Dr. Dorbish is the best physician I've experienced and I have worked with some amazing physicians! He has blown all of us away with his frankness, openness (to alternative suggestions, questions etc) and his ability to incorporate all of the patient's information into his treatment plan, not just the MRI, or the Spine, or the specific medical concern. My very active 80 year old mother has always had some back pain and as she has aged and gained weight (and become generally more sedentary) it has gotten worse. After a day of raking leaves she started to complain (very unlike her) and even asked us kids for help with her laundry, again, VERY unlike her. Over the next few weeks things got dramatically worse. We had her admitted to a nursing care facility to… help with her day to day care as her pain was too bad for her to shower and eventually even walk. The MRI showed a lot of old damage, and a new very bad fracture that was crushing the nerves to her groin, hips and upper legs. The first two physicians we visited just said that she was not a candidate for surgery and wanted to discuss pain management and PT. We started her in the PT and had her moved from assisted care to a more "hospital" like setting for more care/meds, but she continued to get worse and the pain was breaking through even the most powerful medications. Our mom who wouldn't bat an eye at a thumb nail getting torn off, or kidney stones, was literally SCREAMING from agonizing nerve pain. We had her transported to OhioHealth Riverside ER, and she was admitted to the "Silver" Tower (neurology) for additional evaluation. It was here that we met Dr. Dorbish. He has been AMAZING. He recognized that her pain levels were truly unbearable (no quality of life) and that anything we could do that had a chance of improving the situation was worth the downside risks of surgery. He performed surgery, and was able to release the trapped nerves and remove some bone chips while successfully inserting rods and screws into her weakened bones. Mom is recovering and even with her (expected) post surgical pain she looks like a new woman! Assuming we can cajole her into doing all of her PT, she will likely regain most if not all of her independence! Throughout this process Dr. Dorbish has proven to be a FIVE STAR PLUS in all the areas ranked. We are all impressed :)

6 months ago I had a herniated disc that impaired me to the point I could not walk. I was in excruciating pain for months and was miserable.I had exhausted all other therapies to heal the herniation on it's own but it was too large and completely compressing my sciatic nerve. I had a L4-L5 discectomy and nerve foraminotomy by Dr. Dorbish and will be forever grateful to him for giving me my quality of life back. His staff, particularly RN Alicia where excellent during the recovery period and she always got my questions/care plan answered asap. I am still healing and still have pain everyday, but able to manage it with physical therapy & supplements. Any surgery is scary and I am do thankful I ended up with this incredible team. Thank you!
