Dr. Ronald William Hargraves, MD

Dr R Hargraves is the BEST. I have been with him since 2010, I have had 4 surgeries with him, and they are not repeats. He understands my condition, he listens, He knows me and he knows my husband, Pat B. his nurse is the best, after all these years we know each other. I will continue to see him for as long as I live. Is he busy Yes, Is Pat busy Yes, that's understandable for someone who does the best he can. He is a Blessing.

When Dr. Hargraves was practicing in Plattsburgh, NY I was a patient of his as he came highly recommended and was the only one in the area that wasn't over 2 hours away. I had injured my back when I was a junior in high school and he ended up doing a fusion for a herniated disc. He took the wrong disc out the first time. He said I had an extra vertebrae and that caused him to miss count, but he's the only one who ever saw this extra vertebrae. In this first surgery he put my cages in crooked. I was still having a lot of pain and he ended up doing a second surgery. This time he took the right disc out, still put those cages in crooked. Also cut a nerve so I lost feeling from my knee to my hip. I now, after 23 years, have the pins and needles feeling in the side of my leg still. I wouldn't recommended this "Dr." to anyone.

I was a patient of Dr. Hargreaves and had 2 laminectomies in 3 years. Developed severe back pain and then numbness in my Rt. Hand and both legs. Dr. Hargreaves looked at MRIs said numbness was not from my spinal disease. He told me earlier that he could not do anything for my back pain, just take the pain meds. When the numbness began he sent me to a neurologist that did a lot of tests and came up with 2 ridiculous diagnoses which as an RN I knew I did not have. I sought a second opinion from a neck and spine surgeon in Columbus, Ohio. He did some standing x rays and looked at all of my MRIs. He said my Rt. hand numbness was absolutely from Spinal Stenosis in my neck and the leg numbness and back pain was from my lumbar spinal stenosis which appeared to be severe in 3 different areas. He did a 3 level Spinal Fusion in May. I am 8 weeks post op and have not felt this good for 10 years. My back pain is minimal and I no longer limp. The numbness in my feet was gone the day… after surgery my left leg numbness is gone and my rt leg numbness is getting better every day. I am wearing a bone growth stimulator to ensure the fusion takes. When I saw him last week he said when my back is completely healed he will do the appropriate surgery on my neck. My question is if Dr. Hargreaves does not do these surgery why did he not send me to some one who would help me.

I needed a 2nd back surgery after reherniating a disc and my 1st surgeon couldn't see me for 4 months. I was in misery. Dr. Hargraves agreed to see me in 2 months. 4 days before our meeting I was anointed with oil and prayed over by elders in my church and the pain subsided rapidly. At my appointment I had no pain, but kept the appointment to establish myself as a patient. Dr. Hargraves said it was a "spontaneous resolution" and that "if you are a man of God, I'd put it there." He said that if I had a problem in the future that now I am his patient that I wouldn't have to wait so long to see him.

Staff does not care at pts, the nurse is an air head, and when dx told MD didn't seem to care that we were upset and sobbing in his office, rushed us out to another doctor and didn't even wrtie the rx for phyical therapy he said the pt should have. Doctor's office filled with pictures and letters from pts and in his exam rooms, doctor seems to be stuck on himself, I wonder if I wrote a letter about our visits it wouldn't make it on the wall!!

DR HARGRAVES OPERATED ON MY LOW BACK IN 2008. I WAS VERY PLEASED. I HAVE TO GO BACK TO HIM FOR ADDITIONAL LOW BACK SURGERY. NOTE; THE FIRST SURGERY DID NOT FAIL. MY FUTURE SECOND SURGERY IS THE RESULT OF YEARS OF HARD PHYSICAL WORK BY ME. ARTHRITIS HAS SET IN AND MY BACK CONDITION HAS BECAME WORSE. I AM THANKFUL THAT DR HARGRAVES IS HERE IN WHEELING, WV. THIS DOCTOR IS THE BEST!!! HIS NURSE, PAT, IS TOP NOTCH ALSO. SHE DOTS ALL THE 'I'S AND CROSSES ALL THE 'T'S PERTAINING TO YOUR VISIT AND CARE. TALKING TO PAT IS TALKING TO DR HARGAVES, AND SHE IS NOT HARD TO REACH. GREAT LADY!!! WONDERFUL TEAM.
