Dr. Ronald Gene Hood

I had an ankle trauma and Dr. Hood saw me in the hospital. I had 2 ORIF (open reduction internal fixation). I have to say that my ankle was in pieces. The first two surgeries failed. Later I found out that I was a Type 2 diabetic. High blood sugar will prevent and complicate healing. My biggest complaint is why didn't he figure out I was diabetic. I had a third surgery and had serious medical complications. This was NOT his fault; I had a severe reaction to a medication,. I was in the hospital for 21 days, and he did not remove the staples. I had an infection and pus was running out where the bottom staples. I developed a MRSA staph infection in my ankle. It took a long time to get rid of it. He is a good doctor but he overlooked some important things. It took 3 1/2 years of my life to finally be able to walk on the ankle .

Made an appointment after hurting my knee. Even though I couldn't walk without crutches, I had to wait several weeks to get in. When I arrived for an appointment, they said the Dr had canceled all of his afternoon appointments. When I asked why nobody had called me, the receptionist told me it was my fault because I hadn't given them more contact information when I made the appointment. I am sure I gave them all the information that they asked for.
