Dr. Ronald Martin Mall, DO

Very rude, impersonal and controlling individual. I did not bring in blood sugar levels which is all he is interested in anyway. When I explained that I was tired, he started putting me down telling me he had been working on my record until 2:30am in the morning the day of my appointment, then went to the hospital to work his rounds, coming in to work without rest and now I had the gall to tell him I was tired. When I asked him to stop putting me down, he continued to get louder raising his voice and telling me that I was doing was making excuses and I was becoming a problem. He described himself as being very strict. I would describe as being overbearing and do not respond well to his presentation or interrogations. He is very unprofessional in his demeanor. When I said that maybe I should look for someone else, he discharged me on the spot. He misdiagnosed me with liver problems and never apologized stating only that he had the results from a lab test, does not… understand cardiac problems and is extremely rude and controlling. All he wants to do is read from his laptop and tell you what to do, and don't think that he wants to hear anything from you...your input is strictly discouraged.

This guy is a psycho. I went in for a routine physical and he asked me a few preliminary questions. He clearly misunderstood what I was trying to say, but got so flustered by my answers that he refused to treat me. Knowing that it had to be a misunderstanding, I did everything I could to try to work out the miscommunication because I needed this physical for work, but he refused. Seriously, all I wanted was a routine physical. I didn't even want medication! Now, I have to reschedule with a completely new physician because I am sure NEVER going back to this guy. Even to this day, I still don't know what happened.

I had spent a week in the hospital after a very bad cold and diagnosed with COPD. I had coughed so much that I had bruised muscles in my ribs. I was given pain medication while being treated in the hospital and given a prescription upon release. Dr. Mall refused to write me another prescription when the one from the hospital ran out, ignoring that I was still in pain. Dr. Mall suggested me buying a 'Rib Belt' - I was told by the lung specialists in the hospital that this very thing was not a good idea and should not be used.

Dr. Mall has been my family doctor since 1992, and for good reason. I like that he explores options for treatment with me other than writing a prescription for drugs. On extremely rare occasions I have had more than a 10 minute wait, and then only because of an emergency. When that has happened he has apologized profusely - maybe 3 times in 19 years. He always takes as much time with me as I need, and I never feel as if he is "practising" on me. Because of my medical conditions I see him every 3 months to discuss blood test findings. I do wish he had a more proficient group to draw blood, maybe a true phlebotomist. But for the most part the staff is pleasant, friendly, & concerned with my care. I rarely have a problem getting an appointment for the day after I call - and if I can't see Dr. Mall, another doctor or Betsy, the nurse practioner will see me. Again, another rarity in my case. I moved to Georgia for 5 years and still kept him as as my primary physician - I think… that much of him. He does research before recommending me to other physicians for problems out of his realm, and 95% of them are still my doctors. a few years ago I had an accident where the nerve was exposed/protruding from my left hand. He saw me within the hour, and then got on the phone himself when the surgeon he chose said he couldn't see me for a week. I had surgery the following day. He has called me at home to follow up on my care on more than one occasion when my condition was serious. As I said before, I can't say enough good about him. An excellant choice for anyone looking for someone who cares.

Dr Mall is one of the most caring and conciencious doctors I have ever met. My misfortune has been to move away from the area. I hope I can find a doctor with at least some of his qualities. I really miss Dr Mall.
