Dr. Ronald Steven Mandel, DO

I have been a patient of Dr Ronald Mandel for such a long time....decades......! My life and health is very important to me. Dr Mandel treats every patient with the utmost respect. He gives the best care and advice for your situation. He also is family physician for my daughter. We are both singers in our choir...He understands when we are down, and what it means to bounce back because we have a performance. He prescribes the correct medication for our bodies and something that will not affect our voices. Bottomline, he cares about his patients..and God will continue to bless him as he maintains his practice. We care about you Dr Mandel.

My husband and I both have been seeing Dr Mandel for more than 7 years now, and neither one of us have ever had a better primary practitioner. He's a very compassionate dr who always takes the time needed to listen and help you figure out the best course of action for whatever you're dealing with. In addition to that his knowledge of the inner workings of the horrible healthcare system here in America is extremely helpful in getting what you need from your insurance company. His staff does get busy, and sometimes it's a little difficult to reach them or get test results, but that's not because they don't care or aren't doing their best. That's just something you'll deal with at any busy Dr's office. The office itself is older and most certainly a "no frills" office. But it's clean, has all the neccessary equipment and medications, and most importantly is run by a group of people who really do care.

I've been extremely happy with Dr Mandel's care and treatment. I've always found his staff to be very helpful.

The office is filthy, smells moldy/musty. Office help not friendly, very confused help.Not sure who was going to help me. Was very rough with me doing bp. Waited quite a while for dr, to come in. He was plesant. Seemed unconcerned. Did not listen well. It took forever to get referrals. Anyone to return phone calls. No response to my messages, even a fax. No call backs. Then lost it. Takes forever to get med. refills. The office staff rude. No follow through. No call back from dr. on messages or lad, test results. In 65 years by far the worst dr experience I have EVER HAD. HORRIBLE !!!!

Dr. Mandel USED to be a very good doctor. Over the last year, he has gone through staff changes as well as moving offices to the current office location. I have been forced to change doctors due to this change. His staff is now VERY rude to me, hanging up on me, not getting a walker changed, and incessant calls trying to get test strips authorized about 12 times with my local pharmacy (even they were tired of calling him). He has refused to pre-authorize my Lidoderm patches and he has been a giant pain to deal with over the last 6 months. To add insult to injury, I don't even live in South County anymore, so it was out of my way from the get go, but I was willing to sacrifice this because once upon a time he WAS a very good doctor. Unfortunately I have to give him 2 thumbs down at the present time and would not recommend him anymore to anyone. It is a shame, but people change, I guess.

Dr Mandel is not only extremely knowledgeable in the field of medicine but he is also a very compassionate human being! Very rare in his profession! I have panic disorder and in spite of how afraid I am to go to the Doctors he and the staff make me feel very comfortable and at ease to the point of actually like going to see them all. Lisa and Gabby (Nurses) are amazing as well. It's been 18 years since I let a Dr take my blood pressure but Gabby again - puts you at ease and guess what? My blood pressure has been perfect! Aside from that - Dr. Mandel listens, he cares and he takes his time with you. I am so glad that I have found he and his staff and I hope if you are reading this post and afraid to go to the Dr.'s please go see Dr Mandel! It will change your whole perspective of seeing a Dr.

The staff was professional, caring, and made sure I didn't wait very long before seeing the doctor. Dr. Mandel was very nice and acted like he really cared about me as a patient. Something you don't see very often these days. He assured me that I was not in any immediate danger and referred me to the proper specialist for further investigation. The best part is that I didn't feel rushed and his couch is very comfortable!

Dr. Mandel is an incredibly caring man that takes the time to listen to your issues/concerns and address each one. There's never the feeling of being "rushed" and he never just writes a prescription to get you out the door (which I MUCH appreciate). He is very thorough and makes sure you get the right treatment the first time. I highly recommend him.

Dr.Mandel is great...he really takes the time to listen to his patients and makes sure you get the right treatment.

A great doctor. Listens to you. Refers you to a secialist when needed. And if the first specialist doesn't work out, Dr Mandel sends you to a different one for a second opinion. The second doctor was great. Performed the surgeries I desperately needed.
