Dr Shimony saved my life and the life of my Dad. He is very busy because he gives each patient, patient caring care.

I had a positive Stress test and Dr. Shimony wanted to immediately get me to have a Cardiac Cath, telling me that one of the most brillant Intervential Cardiologist would be performing the procedure. I agreed to it, but that same day i spoke to a friend who is also a Cardiologist and she advised me to have a CTA which is less invasive. Dr.Shimony didn't even offer me another option. He also had his asst. Dr. Goldfinger order a beta blocker which i shouldn't take since i am asthmatic and another one that supposedly makes the heart work less. But these medications lower your blood pressure and My usual Blood pressure is very low??? So, i decided not to take them. When the brillant interventional dr. called me the next day i told him i changed my mind he didn't say anything and said he would call Shimony. Dr. Goldfinger called me and i told her I wanted a CTA, , she never even explained what to expect...I finally had the CTA yesterday and its been 36 hours, And I still don't know my… results.. I called the office to see if my test results were ready this morning and the receptionist said the results were there and that the Dr. would call me.. The doctor never called me back..To put someone through this amount of stress, and to be so uncaring and not calling your patient back is unacceptable. He just lost a patient

I was a patient of Dr Shimony with mitro valve prolapse and an irregular heart beat. Dr Shimony admitted me into the hospital (Lenox Hill) at the time to put in a pace maker/defibulator ln. I was in the hospital for four days with only one test and he then decided that I didn't need one! It was a waste of time and money. I decided to get a referral after that bad experience and I'm ny seeing an excellent cardiologist. PS I still don't have a pace maker.

I have been seeing Dr. Shimony for 25 years. He goes above and beyond the call of duty. He is a wonderful docor.

Excellent Doctor, kind , has a lot of patience, extremely thorough and proactive. I would highly suggest for a cardiology consult.

After being a patient for several years I had a bad experience which prompted me to change cardiologists. He prescribed a medication without checking my list of drugs in my chart, or telling me what it was. I reacted to the drug badly as I was already on 2 anti-anxiety medications. I was dizzy, disoriented, nauseous and very frightened. When I called asking him to return my call, he did not, even after telling the secretary it was important. Called twice & finally sent him a fax outlining what happened, but even then he did not call me. I was very disappointed in the way he handled my problem and no longer trust him after years of taking care of my husband and me.

staff is not friendly

Dr.shimony is an excellent doctor,but he is a an out stending man. he cares for anyone like he would care for his family. his courtesy manner and professionalisim are excellent and more. Thank you so much for being you.
