Rosa Calcano, D.M.D.
Dr. Rosa Calcano may be called the heart of Chestnut Hill Dental by some. Dr. Calcano’s calling was evident when she earned her degree in dentistry (cum laude) from the University of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in 1989. Upon graduation, she began teaching at the University as an associate professor in Dental Prosthodontics. Upon the infamous economic downturn of her home country, she bravely ventured to the United States to help others with her dental expertise.  Facing a daunting language barrier and completely new environment, Dr. Calcano perservered and acclimated quickly and through hard work and raw talent, she was admitted to the Advanced Standing Dental Medicine doctorate program at Boston University in 1994 and completed the program in two years.  Equipped with her DMD, Dr. Calcano joined Chestnut Hill Dental, adding fervor and zeal for dental excellence as only she can. She nurtures our patients clearly and tenderly through their often extensive …dental needs. When she is not at her second home in the office, she likes to watch the Food Network, and is a voracious reader of motivational books. Last, but not least, she loves her son, Samuel Ricardo who was born in July 2007, her dogs, Mitzy and Jerry, and her supportive husband Rick.
