Dr. Rosa Cataldo, DO

Dr. Cataldo is a wonderful pediatrician. She is caring, thorough and incredibly well educated. She is a gift to the families that she serves.

We brought my son to stony brook hospital for having an Asthma attack brought on by an a fever and virus. Soon he was in distress and they were talking about intubating him which is very scary as a parent to hear . Dr. Cataldo recomended administering a breathing treatment to see if he would react quickly and positively to that method of treatment which he did! I thank her for her quick thinking and immediate care that decision saved us from seeing our child while very scared go through the intubation procedure! Again thank you

I had my 8 yr old daugher in the office on Tues and Thurs and at each visit was told she had something viral going on. She also said her lungs sounded great. I should mention that she has asthma. I asked to have her checked for strep as it was going around in her school. She was running a fever of 103-104 the whole week. Needless to say, late Thursday night she ended up in the ER. The ER doctor said that he doesn't trust other doctors assessments and would run all his own tests and make his own assessments. Thank goodness he did, because she has pneomonia and strep, the 2 things I questioned that she wouldn't test her for!! I'm so frustrated that she wouldn't listen to my concerns. I've also called the office several times and have never gotten any kind of call back! My poor daugher ended up being admitted and spending 3 days in the hospital:(
