Dr. Rosa Yoomee Kim, MD

Dr Kim has been my retina specialist since 2009. I have a complicated and serious eye condition. Prior to coming to Houston and being treated by Dr. Kim, my eye had been operated on 5 different times... Maintaining vision in the affected eye has been a primary concern. Dr. Kim has been a consumate professional. She has been thorough and kind. Dr Kim has consistently communicated relevent concerns and treatment options. So far, since coming to Dr. Kim, I have not required additional surgery. I do see her regularly throughout the year so she can monitor the issues in my eye condition. Dr. Kim is brilliant and genuinely personable. She treats me as if we are working together in concert to maintain my vision. It has been a blessing to have her be my retina specialist.

My appointment with Dr. Kim was performed excellent and with little waiting time. Always a pleasure to visit the facility!

The first time I saw Dr. Kim; I had a retinal tear. She took care of it. I am very comfortable with her care. I trust her with my eyes! The office staff are nice & helpful. Appointments can usually be fast if you’re flexible about the office you go to.

What I think can best be documented by the fact that I drive over 700 miles to see her.

Dr. Rosa Kim has performed retinal surgery on both me and my husband. I cannot imagine better care or a better outcome. Truly great and highly recommended.

I will NEVER see Dr. Kim again. I have had shots in my eye for diabetic retinopathy by several of the other drs. in this practice and everything went well. Against standard protocol, however, Dr. Kim, "saturates" the patient's eye with betadine, which can - and did - cause a severe dry eye and I was told can also cause a scratched cornea. I have a high pain tolerance and have had 11 surgeries, and this pain was so excruciating that it was only 2nd to when I ruptured a disc in my neck. This resulted in an entire night of abject suffering, a trip back to the dr. for a re-exam, & my husband having to take off a day of work to drive me there. In addition to that, Dr. Kim is abrupt, borderline rude, impatient with questions, and was in such a hurry that she made me feel like an afterthought. And apparently, she was too busy to even GIVE ME THE INFORMATION SHEET EXPLAINING WHAT COMPLICATIONS COULD OCCUR AFTER THE SHOT AND WHAT MEASURES COULD BE TAKEN TO MITIGATE THEM. If she had done that,… it would have saved me a great deal of pain and concern, as well as a trip back to the office. In my opinion, THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR HER NOT FOLLOWING STANDARD PROTOCOL IN THE USE OF BETADINE, OR IN NOT "REMEMBERING" TO GIVE PATIENTS FOLLOW UP INSTRUCTIONS.

My husband and I have been Dr Kim’s patient for over 17 years. She is a compassionate, knowledgeable, detailed oriented doctor with excellent bedside manner. She had saved my husband’s vision from macular degeneration. We all love her and will be her faithful patients forever.

Dr. Kim was very courteous and professional. She took the time to answer my questions and scheduled follow up visit to ensure that the treatment she prescribed was working.
