Dr. Rose Cunningham-Ahumad

I was so angry when I left the offices of Dr. Omar Kard M.D. and Dr. Rose M Cunningham Ahumada, DO, on Jun 6, 2019, that I purposely waited several days before I wrote this review:I wanted sometime to calmly reflect on how badly I was treated there. So here is my carefully considered review: I made an appointment month ago to see Dr Krad based on his excellent reviews. Since I had not received the usual confirmation call, I called the office the morning of my appointment to make sure I would be seeing Dr Krad in a few hours, and the office staff I spoke with confirmed my scheduled appointment. At the office, a nurse put those drops in my eyes to dilate my pupils in preparation for the doctor's examination. I was then informed that Dr Krad was not in the office that day and as a result, another person, Dr Ahumade would be examining me. At first I was surprised, since I had confirmed my appointmen to be with dr Krad just a few hours ago. I then informed the nurse that I would be fine to… see Dr Ahumada for today's appointment (especially since my eyes were already dilated from those drops), but in the futudre, I wanted to see Dr Krad for my regular eye exams and treatment if any, since that is why I chose this office in the first place. Now here is the big shocker when everything went downhill quickly. The nurse came back and told me that even though my eyes were already prepared for the exam, Dr Ahumada would not see me, since I didn't want to continue seeing her after this first appointment, so here I was, eyes fully dilated and I'm told that I won't be examined by any doctor in the office on this day, simply bcause I had made appointment especially for Dr Krad. And because I wanted to meet in the future with Dr. Krad, Dr Ahumada now had no interest or felt no professional obligation to examin my dialted eyes. I have never before experienced such rude and selfish behavior in a doctor's office, which I consider to be totally unprofessional and unethical. Said differently, this is the classic case of bait and switch, except if you don't accept the switch, you get rejected on the spot. So please be forewarned: If you go to this office to see Dr Krad, and he doesn't show up (for one reason or another), you will be assigned to Dr. Ahumada, whether you like it or not. and if you have the audacity to inform the office that you will see her for this one time, but you regularly prefer to see Dr Krad, then she will not examine you (even if the nurse has already administered those dilating eye drops). I am reporting this unprofessional behavior to my insurance carriers, so that they are not billed for an eye appointment with this doctor's office that never took place... and so they are certainly not billed for the office having dilated my pupils.... Dr. Cunningham performed cataract surgery on me. A week later my eyesight reverted back to the way it was before the surgery, which was horrible!!!! Long story short Dr Cunningham tried to convince me that their "state of the art" machine that takes measurements - that they conducted before the surgery - screwed up. How ridiculous!!! It was her technician that was a dufus and did not know what he was doing that conducted the measurements - he screwed up the test! She told me to just go ahead and schedule a 2nd surgery and she would put another lens on top of the one she just implanted. Like it was no big deal to have a second eye surgery. She is HORRIBLE DOCTOR - do not go to her for anything serious. Their offices are kind of a dump also

I was her patient for several years and all was good until the last 18 or so months. The following highlights her office staff problems which Dr. Cunningham needs to manage: 1. Long office wait, 30 min or more, after being called in an additional 20 to 45 min wait for the Dr. 2. Reception staff are impersonal, almost rude, and never a smile or comment we appreciate your time 3. Called office for a prescription which they never did send to my pharmacy. 4. Office scheduled two important tests on separate days, with the promise I would be called with the results. No call ever came. Dr. Cunningham was not forth-coming about the results neither. 5. Waiting area is small full of people also waiting a long time to be called.
