Dr. Rosemary Louise Chickos, DO

We recently had a bad experience with Dr.Chickos at Haywood Regional Medical Center. On Apr 6th 2019 my mother went in for an appendectomy a 2hr procedure that turned into a 9hr surgery. She took it upon herself to cut my mother open and leave her open for 9hrs. She then took the time(while my mother was cut wide open on the table) to call me and "ask" me my "opinion" on what her next steps would be. But couldnt take 2min while I was present at the hospital to speak with me. She took steps and un necessary actions with my Mother while she was under. My mother now has a ileostomy that she will probably keep the rest of her life. The wound where Ms.Chickos cut her and did not properly clean her out and left dead tissue inside her and sewed her back up. It has been 2 months since the surgery and my mother has been back in the hospital due to complications and her wound not healing. Now she is looking at a short term rehabilitation center so she can get around the clock care. Dr.… Chickos was very rude the 1 time I did speak with her. WARNING to all:: If her name is ever brought up to do a surgery, run as far as you can and get a different surgeon. She needs her medical licenses taken.
