Dr. Roshan P. Shah, MD

I am 75 years old, and I had a full knee replacement surgery with Dr. Shah in 2022. Before the procedure, I was living with excruciating pain that made even simple daily activities difficult. Thanks to Dr. Shah’s exceptional skill and care, that pain is finally gone, and my quality of life has improved tremendously. In 2026, I returned to him for a partial knee replacement, and once again, the results have been outstanding. My knee feels stronger, more stable, and significantly more comfortable. Dr. Shah is truly one of the best doctors I have ever met. Throughout my entire experience, he was not only highly professional and knowledgeable but also compassionate and attentive. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made me feel confident and at ease every step of the way. At this stage in my life, being able to move without pain means everything to me. I am incredibly grateful for the care I received and would highly recommend Dr. Shah to anyone considering knee surgery.

I recently had right knee replacement surgery. Within 2 weeks, I am able to resume driving, working and feeling “ fairly normal” Dr. Shah is a top notch doctor. He made this whole process easy and without very little pain. He is patient friendly, approachable and a great surgeon. In addition , his support staff has always been friendly and answered my questions/concerns in a timely manner. Dr. Shah will be doing my left knee in the near future. Had hip replacement surgery. Couldn't be happier! Dr. Shah was great, friendly, answered all my questions. Columbia Presbyterian staff was very helpful and kind. Recovery going amazingly well. Would definitely recommend him.

My long time internist strongly recommended Dr. Shah, and my double knee replacement surgery went extremely well. I recovered much earlier than expected, with virtually no pain. Dr. Shah proved not only to be an excellent surgeon, but his bedside manner is superb. He answered all of my questions and in particular answered all of the questions that the lady in my life had. Never rushed, always on time, a real pleasure to get to know and to spend time with. Outstanding. My highest recommendation.

My experience with Dr. Shah following my September 2022 hip replacement has not been great. I have had at least three follow appointments. My questions and concerns have gone unaddressed. He contacted me via phone on 5/5/23 after I emailed his office to request that he write an addendum to his earlier chart note because I was going to seeking a second opinion regarding on-going pain and leg length difference. It was on this call that he finally offered insight as to what he thought was causing the pain as well as provided some details about what happened in the operating room which were not detailed in the post operative summary and had not been previously discussed with me. He also acknowledged during this call that there was a “significant” difference in the length of my legs which he previously denied. I am very unhappy, and I have pain, stiffness, and a gait issue now. Another example of how poorly black people are treated by the health care establishment.

From my first visit with Dr. Shah, through and including my follow up visits after a full knee replacement, I was met with superb professionalism, knowledge and patience while I asked many questions. Dr. Shah was very attentive and helped me to understand the procedure an he also explained to me what my part in the recovery process would be. I felt calm and prepared before surgery. Dr. Shah's precise skills helped me to walk unaided in two days, and at the two week mark, I was exercising and bending my knee without any pain. Dr. Shah is an outstanding orthopedic surgeon and I am truly lucky that I selected him to perform my full knee replacement.

Dr. Shah is wonderful! He's got a warm and caring bedside manner but he's also a brilliant surgeon. Dr. Shah did both of my knees and my recovery was far and away better than any of my friends - it was kind of amazing that I could walk around town the week after surgery and felt fine.
