DO NOT USE THIS SURGEON!!! PLEASE HEDE MY WARNING! MUST READ WHOLE THING……He preformed my 17th surgery. And he, his office, medical assistant are the worst medical team I have ever experienced! That says a great deal seeing how many surgeries I have had. I fell down the stairs broke my ankle. Went to the orthopedic associates urgent care and X-rays were taken and I was forwarded to him because my doctor was out of town. Anything I have needed has been a hassle with attitudes. From a hospital bed because I am sleeping on a love seat in my living room because I can’t get to my bedroom safely (I’m 5’11” mind you) my leg hangs off no matter which way I lay, they don’t care. I’m in so much pain post operation call and ask if I can have the doctor or APRN call me I get told no they don’t call patients. “Explain the problem “ so I did. “I will call you back after I talk to them”. She calls me back and says in lieu of changing the pain meds they want you to have another nerve block, she says… did you eat and I did so I told her. Let me call the surgery center and I will call you back. That was 4 hours ago. Meanwhile I start looking to find out if I can even get another nerve block safely, and find out that with my heart condition it can cause a stroke or damage the nerves in my leg….. I will not be going back post op to him. Even if I have to go to the hospital to remove the splint and stitches. He didn’t give me a post operation appointment and I’m not looking for one. When they get around to it in a month I’ll say “I filed medical malpractice lawsuit “

See another surgeon. Please and ty. Incompetent callous . Had to see another surgeon after he wouldn't listen to my complaints after his surgery on foot told him of ankle pain and wouldn't even look

Read what everyone else is saying about him. He is overly arrogant, talks over you instead of listening, and does not take concerns seriously. There is a reason why this doctor’s ratings are so low. Do not waste your time going to him you will be very disappointed.

Dr. Ross Benthien dropped my leg during surgery. Told me my leg was heavy and that’s why it happened, beyond just arrogance. He did not put this incident in the operative report. Most importantly, my foot reconstruction is worse then prior to surgery. I lose my balance, have difficulty walking because I am now rotating my ankle and walking on the outside of my foot. He totally destroyed the functionality of my foot. I am preparing myself for a second surgery to correct what Dr. Benthien did in hopes to get it back to its previous state.

Unsympathetic masochistic, unprofessional incompetent.

Dr. Benthein has been great before, during, and after my foot surgery. Even after my first post op and seeing how much work I had done and how much healing was left, he reassured me I was doing well and showed me where my healing is and where it is headed. He laid out realistic expectations, he has a calm demeanor was very professional. His staff and facilities were excellent.

I am impressed with Dr. B. Professionalism and especially how he and his nurse distracted me while giving me a shot in the ankle. Very happy with every visit so far.

I could put his bedside manner aside, but the bones in my foot never joined. He never mentioned that fact. I had to go to another doctor to have the same surgery all over again.

Dr Benthien helped me become mobile once again

I have seen many doctors in my medical career and personal life and none have come close to the arrogance and unprofessionalism that this boy carries. He openly mocked other medical professionals in front of me and staff. He could care less as to why I was there and it showed in his assessment of my issue. I will never recommend him to anyone unless you like being treated as a waste of time.
