Visited this Dr and would like to warn other people away. The Dr was concerned with his income from insurance and could not focus on patient needs. This was an all around bad experience.

Several factors weigh in to contribute to a very negative experience with Dr Mathews. His lack of proper assessments, misdiagnosis, defensive towards questions, and impatience was the opposite of the reviews I read. He did seem very interested in talking about how he could get more money from the insurance companies. I would like to suggest skipping this Dr. disregard the positive reviews. My experience was nothing like the reviews that mislead me. Hope this helps someone.

Professional, Courteous, Understanding, Actually listens to you, Provides exceptional patient care. Dr Roy Mathew treated me for several years helping me to eventually overcome and defeat my mental illness. He is a fine gentleman and very respectful.

He was very helpful I felt like heG helped me pen point all my issues and actually listened. Which was awesome. I will defiantly continue seeing him. I feel like he defiantly knows what he is talking about. My appointment lasted a good 40 mins and he mad sure I didn't have any other issues before I left.

He and his wife run this small practice. They both have little to no regard for those who are there for healing reasons and only care about money. Very greedy people, please if you have any other options go elsewhere. The 20 minute appointment I had with him was mostly of him talking about the books he had wrote and his pet wolves. His wife runs the books and she is no better.

Dr. Mathews provides services via MHMR and a private practice. I am a mental health practitioner and have never met this particular Psychiatrist, but through my clients view-point I know he is competent. He cares, spends adequate time with each client, and is strategic in his diagnosis and administration of medications. Here in West Texas, he stands above the crowd in providing effective psychiatric health care.
