Dr Ruchi Agarwal

Dr. Agarwal was so pleasant and calming. Her bedside manner was all one could ask for. I was so relieved my insurance was in-network. It is so unfortunate that I am looking for another doctor and cannot refer my friends to her because there is no number at which to reach her. The number provided by my insurance company and the internet lead to another number's voicemail. It is 2019... what's the deal here? Incredibly frustrating.

I had a very positive experience every time I went to be checked up. The staff was nice and friendly. The doctor was professional when it came to testing me and making sure I was alright. I had an abnormal result that I feel she could have explained better. I still do not completely understand the results of my test and I remember feeling scared that I could have cancer. In addition to those things, a couple of months after my visit, she called me up and told me I was having trouble with my insurance. I was so taken aback by the way she was talking to me that I asked her a couple of times if I was in fact speaking with my doctor. She told me that they tried billing an insurance that I don't have and when I told her there must be some mistake, she insisted that she stay on the phone so she could ensure that she got her money. I practically had to beg her to let me call her back while I sorted it out. I was on the phone with the insurance company when she called again and demanded… my policy number with that insurance company even though I did not have an active policy with them. I was on edge and all she cared about was getting paid. It was highly unorthodox because most doctors have a Billings department for that sort of thing. The manner in which she spoke to me was uncouth, unprofessional, unethical, and borderline abusive. I felt violated after she spoke to me and I have yet to receive an apology.

She seems to have hired a new office staff, which is much improved

Dr Agarwal is great-- she puts you at ease, is very professional, takes the time to talk to you. However, her desk staff are horrible. I had a phone conversation with Epy about a billing problem, and she cut me off in the middle of my sentence explaining the issue, raised her voice, and proceeded to berate me. I have never ever heard of this happening at a doctor's office!!! You yell at the patients? I couldn't get a word in, so I said "excuse me" to get her to stop, and her response was a very snarky "excuse YOUUUU". What?! This is really crazy. I actually had to hang up on her because she just continued yelling at me without a moment to get a word in edgewise. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Judging by some other reviews, I'm not the only person who's had this problem. My previous interactions with the desk staff were not particularly warm and fuzzy, but that phone "conversation" was a whole new level.

Unfortunately, Dr. Agarwal went to India without reaching out to patients and giving us a heads up. When i called to receive a renewal for my birth control perscription, i was told in a very curt manner there wasn't any other doctor who could renew and i'd have to wait until she returns..(which was in a month, so in essence, i was out of luck) When i insisted there has to be a way, the receptionist became ruder with her tone and said she leaves at 5pm with notes and has no idea whether or not the doctor will ever respond to me...(and didn't really care in her attitude) when i asked is this really the way to handle leaving her patients high and dry, she responded in a snotty, righteous tone of voice which was highly unacceptable, "well you should've called before she left" (as if i knew she was leaving)?..i will never go back to this office.

Dr. Argawal has acceptable bed side manners. I actually liked her in person. I needed her to fit me for diaphragm which she wasn't able to that day. The problem is that for some reason diaphragm is not popular with patients and pharmacies don't carry it anymore. The manufacturers only sell it to pharmacy or doctors offices NOT to the patients. So most doctors order it directly from the manufacturer/distributor and the patient gets it from her doctor. Dr. Argawal flat out refused to do that. She said in the past she has been burned and the insurance companies have not paid her so she won't do it. I offered to pay for it myself and not have her deal with insurance at all and she still refused! She knew very well that I can't get it any other way and did not offer any help whatsoever. I can't trust a doctor who leaves her patient in the dust like this. I was appalled and changed doctors immediately!

I love this Doctor!!!!! ive been seeing her for about 5 yrs. Even when she is busy and not seeing patients, she takes time to see me. she listens and is very attentive.
