Dr. Ruppert Augustus Hawes, MD

I saw him several times many years ago as part of a clinic where you got a different doctor every time if you didn't specify. I thought he was good in his diagnosis and a warm person. He was understanding about my reasons for not wanting to take certain medications. One thing I would note, though - a young doctor in the learning process was once there and visibly shook in his presence. He was harsh with her when she got a minor thing wrong. Maybe this is normal among doctors, though. Note: My reviews of the staff are from a long time ago - they may have changed.

I went into one of those walk-in offices, this particular one in Brick. Dr. Hawes was the doctor who was on that day, and took care of me. Basically, I had thought I had the flu, and a sinus infection. Dr. Hawes seemed very thorough in his check up, and suggested some over the counter options that he thought were good ones should I catch this again. He also prescribed an antibiotic for the sinus infection. I've seen low scores on here, but it seems more like the staff is the reason for those scores, and not Dr. Hawes. Frankly, I think there are far many more doctor's out there that are less than adequate as opposed to really caring for the patient. My experience with Dr. Hawes was at the higher end of the scale.

Dr Hawes is an excellent physician, having been with him for 10+years and across 3 offices I can say that with authority. Sadly, the level of support from staff at the latest office in Trenton is well below acceptable. A real shame since he is a good person and a better Doctor. Would discourage anyone from moving to this office.
