Dr. Rushda Mumtaz, MD

Dr. Mumtaz enter the room she was rude to my husband and me and ask questions then interrupted me when I tried to answer her. I got fed up with this and told her allow me to talk so I can explain symptoms. Dr. Mumtaz hands me paperwork for an outpatient surgery endoscopy procedure but neglected to inform me she would be performing on me but I thought it would be a surgeon other than her. Also I asked her to prescribe a medicine that's been working for my acid reflux she said it wasn't cover under my health insurance but it was when I called my insurance to confirm it was covered and I called the office back and spoke to Dr. Mumtaz to rewrite a new prescription of what I asked for. There are two things she has done is wrong lie about insurance not being covered and no mentioning of her doing the surgery. Upon arrival to outpatient clinic this is when I found out that Dr. Mumtaz is my surgeon and she made a comment before surgery if you don't want to be here then don't be here. I made… up my mind and told her off in front of her staff and got that IV out of my arm and got the hail out of there. I can't have this rude insecure doctor perform any surgery on me with that attitude knowing she could purposely hurt me and caused possible death which borders on malpractice and the medical board needs to be informed. I also notice by the comments on here that the Caucasian patients vs. non-Caucasian are treated better. My husband and I were treated like poor people of color with no respect at all.

I accompanied a resident to a colonoscopy today and never have I witnessed a more, rude, obnoxious and unprofessional doctor. How does she have a practice of over 30 years? She should be fired.

She is horrible and scary and so mean she doesn’t respect the patient and she doesn’t deserve one star but I have to give her in order to write a review.....

Dr. Mumtaz noticed non-GI symptoms and dug deeper until the right referrals and diagnoses were found. She is tenacious and thinks deeply about patients' welfare. Yes, if you slack off and endanger yourself she will scold you. She cares a LOT.

I really like Dr mumtaz she is very straight forward with everything regarding your care tells you everything wish more doctors we're like that does an excellent job

Over an hour late to both appointments. No apologies. Couldn't care less about the patient. Curt and rude. A thoroughly disagreeable person.

I went to see Dr. Mumtaz twice. Both times I waited an hour in a small and very full waiting room. When I went back to see the Doctor the second time that's when I heard the yelling! She came into my room and said in a very loud voice that none of my labs were sent over to her from LabCorp at St. Joseph's Hospital. Then she left the room to get the results. The next thing I know I hear screaming and yelling from the room of the patient next to mine. I heard her scream; "I have a legal right to ......" could not make out the rest of it but it was yelling. When she came back into my room she was upset that 2 of the lab tests ordered were missing. She never looked at me both times I went to see her . She faced the wall while she spoke to me in a loud voice...... EeeeeeK!

As a patient myself and also a person who has worked with medical providers for 11yrs, I was really disturbed of this "GI DOCTOR". She yells at her patients like if she is their mother simply for not scheduling a follow up "soon enough" even if the follow up is not urgent or even necessary!!! It is the patient's choice wether to follow up soon enough or NOT! It's their health on the line...NOT HERS! And you can hear her yelling all the way to the next exam room where other patients are waiting to be seen by her! This provider doesn't deserve to practice if she is going to be disrespecting patients and violating HIPPA!

TERRIBLE! The doctor is disorganized and unfriendly. She mismanaged her time and kept me waiting for over an hour. Once she finally saw me, she gave no apology for her chaos. She looked at me for three seconds and wrote me a prescription for several hundred dollars. She did not tell me how expensive it was and I went to fill it, I could not afford it. This doctor did not have my personal health prioritized; rather, she just wanted to get paid. One good example of how the medical field is broken. Do not waste your time or money as there are doctors who are good and want to help.
