Dr. Russell Anderson Betcher, MD

Dr.Betcher has done torn meniscus surgery on both of knees.Both times with excellent results.He came highly recommended as a sports injury orthopedic surgeon. Kudos to KOC staff and therapy personnel.

Dr Betcher was the most highly recommend by physical therapist that I got to speak with after searching in Knoxville. area for an orthopedic surgeon. He operated on my knee and a few years later I had him fix my shoulder. I highly recommend!

Dr Betcher took the time to explain my knee issues and why I would need physical therapy before and after surgery to achieve the best possible outcome. He is concerned about the best possible outcome for his patients!

ACL repair, the Doc was great with my 23 year old son. Took his time and really listened, didn't make any rash decisions nor promises he couldn't keep. He also explained things and answered all my questions. Fitness seems to be a priority to him so he understood my son wanting to be able to play hard again.

A nurse in the emergency room called Dr.Betcher on a Sunday evening on his off time to see if he could see me because my injuries were so extensive. He told me to be in his office at noon the very next day. Well when there with my X-rays and MRI it revealed dislocated knee with torn LCL MCL PCL and fractured tibia plateau. Surgery was scheduled and we were in surgery for 5 hours. I honestly would not be walking or I would have some major problems if the Surgeon that was going to do my surgery that Sunday would have done it. I will not see anyone else!!!

I could honestly care less about nice the staff was or how long the wait was. KOC is a big place; waiting is part of it. Dr. Betcher did an ACL reconstruction on me when I was 20. I never wore a brace after surgery and went on to play college basketball. I was faster and stronger after surgery than I was before. I'm 33 now, my knee has held up great, and I have zero issues with it, as long as I'm active. I recommend him to everyone and wouldn't let anyone else operate on me.

After 45 minutes of waiting, I was taken to a room by a rude nurse. Dr. Betcher then talked to me like I was a child. I was then handed a pair of crutches and not told why. Surgery was recommended, so I had it done. Dr. Betcher walked into my room after surgery to get something he forgot and wouldn't answer my questions. I was then told by his nurse that Dr. Betcher's original diagnosis was incorrect and that I would recover even quicker than originally anticipated. After a couple weeks, I went for my follow-up. I waited for over an hour and was then asked if I would mind seeing a physical therapy assistant because Dr. Betcher was too busy. I agreed because by that point I just wanted to go home. After a total of 1.5 hours of waiting, I have up and started to walk out. On my way out, an employee was rude to me. Six months after surgery, my leg is worse than it was before surgery and will be seeing another doctor to correct what KOC has done to me.

Doctor Russell Betcher did a great job on my ACL reconstruction. I am a 62 year old and did not expect such a rapid and complete recovery. I could not be more pleased. Thank you, Dr. Betcher!

Dr. Betcher was an excellent physician. His diagnosis was exact and he was very accurate with my treatment. He performed my surgery and did a gray job during after care. I would recommend him to anyone. If I ever need him again I will not think twice.
