I was in severe knee pain, could not bear weight on my right knee, took an X-ray with me also, he told me to come back when I lost weight. Never even looked at X-ray or my knee.

Dear Dr Koenig, Since you felt it necessary to send me a letter expressing your feelings about my appointment, I felt it would only be appropriate for me to do the same… I do not appreciate your insinuation that I purposely lied about the Gabapentin! I listed all medications that I could recall at that time I filled out the paperwork. As your nurse well knows, I couldn’t even recall the location that I had the MRI, and you should recall that I couldn’t remember the name of the medication given to me at the walk-in clinic. I told you that is was “methandol” or something like that, that it was on my phone, and I would be happy to look it up…you said don’t worry about it. So, there were some medications I had been given that you didn’t want me to even take the time to look up, but you attempted to make it sound like I was only there for Gabapentin because I forgot to list it. Now, let’s about what YOU didn’t disclose: You told me to take the Vimovo for 3-5 days and if that didn’t… help, I could try something else. I called the office on Friday the 18th and told the lady who answered the phone that we needed to try the other thing because I wasn’t getting any better. I clearly stated in your office, I was leaving the next day for Denver (16th) and would be gone for a week (returning 22nd) so I explained to her that it would have to be called in to Denver Walgreen’s. She then explained that you wouldn’t call anything in to a pharmacy in another state! (#1 – undisclosed in your office on the 15th). You should have explained that to me in your office when I was sitting there as well as explained to me that if I required a medication stronger than Gabapentin, you would not prescribe it but would then refer me to a spine specialist (#2 – undisclosed in your office on the 15th). When I called the office on the 16th, the lady answering phone in your office told me that if I had been prescribed Gabapetin by another Dr., I would have to start over as far as the number of days taking any medication to help relieve some of the nerve pain or would have to return to the office prescribing it! (#3 – undisclosed in your office on 15th) I had cancelled my appointment with you in 3 weeks, 7 days prior to receiving your letter due to what you hadn’t disclosed to me the day of my visit. I made it very clear on the phone with the lady in your office that what you didn’t tell me was very disturbing and unacceptable. You might check with her on my complaint. Now let’s talk about what disturbed me the most on my visit in your office on the 15th, and that was how you treated the lady who was shadowing your patient visits! I have had several interns who were “shadowing” a doctor in my life, but I have NEVER seen a doctor who treated the “shadower” with as little respect as you did her; quizzing her on everything, including working out math problems, without even the opportunity to work it out with pencil and paper, in front of the patient. I felt so sorry for her…you were bordering harassment with this young lady! The only person you impressed in my room that day…was yourself! Maybe you should focus on what you aren’t disclosing, because had I known of the 3 undisclosed topics mentioned above, I would have NEVER made an appointment with you to begin with. You are simply a referral service who charges Dr. prices. It is obvious why I was able to schedule an appointment with you on the very same day as I called. Now, since we have both expressed our views on undisclosed matters, I expect you to cease all contact with me. Continued attempts from you or your office will be viewed as harassment. And appropriate measures will be taken. Discontinue any further contact with me! Adios

Visited Dr. Koenig recently with regard to arthritic pain in several points. He listened carefully to my complaints and advised a systemic treatment/approach. He applied the treatment to only one point and advised we would see how that worked before continuing with the other areas. Initial treatment was successful and we have moved on to the next step. Dr. Koenig is extremely methodical and thoroughly evaluates one' s situation before proceeding. He takes the time to explain each step to his patients so they will completely understand what is to be done and the expected outcome of the treatment. Patient for over 15 years / highly recommend Dr. Koenig!

I recently saw Dr. Koenig for a knee injury. Even though my visit was a working-in emergency, Dr. Koenig was focused on my problem completely and not rushing out the door to get to the next patient. He listened to my explanation, thoroughly examined my injury, discussed treatment options, and advised me in making the proper choice of care. I arrived practically in tears from the pain and left walking! Thanks again

I could go on forever about all of the positive experiences I have had with Dr. Koenig over the years. I have had multiple procedures done throughout the years and they have all been positive. I have been to other orthopods over the years since I have so many issues, but have never had one that listens and has spent as much time with me as Dr. Koenig. Sometimes the wait time may be a little longer than usual because he is spending the time necessary to listen to his patients. I have received the same necessary time everytime I have seen him. For instance, just recently he spent over an hour with me listening and addressing a serious problem that I had going on. I have been lucky in the past to get 5 minutes out of any of the other orthos I have seen. He is the most thorough and honest doctor I have ever been to. I highly recommend.

Dr. Koenig is extremely knowledgeable and thorough with a wonderful bedside manner. He has treated my teenage boys for several years. Having Dr. Koenig as my sons' surgeon gave me peace of mind during each surgery. I have referred many patients to him and all have been very satisfied with the care they received.

This guy is the last of a dying breed! I've never been to a doctor who actually answers my questions and listens to my every concern. He's a true healer of integrity and morale. I'd recommend him to anyone seeking an accurate, honest diagnosis and proper treatment.
