The absolute worst. Condescending doesn’t begin to cover it. Rude, insensitive and unworthy of being given the title “doctor”.

This is the worst doctor I've ever visited. Completely dismissed my concerns an was rude.

Would Not recommend this Dr. very rude and made me feel uncomfortable

I had my last check-up before baby with Dr Clayton, never having met him before. I found him friendly, reassuring and very professional. He was happy to answer my questions and concerns at the end until I felt good. Would definitely recommend him to others!

First off, I have never written a review (positive or negative) for a Doctor, but after meeting with Dr. Clayton I would hate for anyone else to have the same experience that me and my wife did. My wife is currently pregnant with our first child. Right from the beginning as my wife informed Dr. Clayton of her birth plan, he reminded her to not be too rigid when it came to her plans. That in itself was very off putting. We have worked very hard to outline what my wife does and does not want to happen during labor and delivery, and it seemed that the Dr did not care at all what her wishes are. My wife’s initial blood pressure test had come back a little high, and without even retaking the test (which has happened every time my wife measures a little high), he ordered a blood test for preeclampsia. My wife later told me that the blood pressure was taken on her forearm, which does cause higher readings on average. He was not reassuring at all and lacked any type of compassion. His bedside… manner is that of an arrogant robot. He then took us to his office to talk to us about other pregnancy related topics such as low amniotic fluid, which my wife did experience a month prior to this appointment. He scheduled us for the non stress test which we have had before and was not really a big deal. He went on to tell us that it is out of our control, which it very well can be, but in the past Dr’s have given my wife different strategies that she CAN do to help amniotic fluid production. To give her the power to help her pregnancy is what Dr Clayton refused to consider. He then criticized my wife for not doing kick counts every day. We have a VERY active baby. Easily scoring the 10 movements in less than 15 minutes. He told my wife to not use any outside stimulation for the baby, but yet to gain measurements for the NST, it’s common practice to stimulate the baby’s movements with ice water. My wife was left in distress and worry because the Dr didn’t leave my wife with any options to help her pregnancy. We were just another appointment in his day.

AWFUL IS A NICE WAY TO DESCRIBE HIM AND HIS PRACTICE. HE DIALS IT IN AT EVERY APPOINTMENT. NEVER WANTS TO LEAVE THE COMPUTER SCREEN IN FRONT OF HIM TO TALK TO YOU OR DO A LEGITIMATE ULTRASOUND. THIS IS MY THIRD PREGNANCY, AND WITH EVERY PREGNANCY I'VE HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH HIM AT LEAST ONCE AND THEN REALIZE WHY I NEVER WENT BACK EACH TIME. I'M HAVING SOME SPOTTING AND VOICED MY CONCERNS AND HOW I'M NERVOUS BECAUSE I MISCARRIED MY LAST PREGNANCY AND HE ASKED ME IF I WANTED HIM TO CHECK MY CERVIX... ISN'T THAT SOMETHING YOU SHOULD BE DOING ANYWAY. HE PULLED OUT THE ULTRASOUND MACHINE AND DID THE QUICKEST SWIPE OF MY BELLY LETTING ME HEAR THE HEART BEAT OF THE BABY AND THAT WAS IT. THE MONITOR SHOWED THE BABY FACING BACKWARDS (AWAY FROM THE SCREEN) SO THERE WAS NO CLEAR PROFILE PIC OF BABY'S HEAD OR FACE AND HE TOOK A PIC OF THAT AND GAVE THAT TO ME AS PROOF THAT EVERYTHING WAS OK. NEVER TOOK THE TIME TO HAVE THE BABY MOVE AROUND OR SEE A PROFILE OF IT. JUST DONE. REAL QUICK.… TOLD ME NOT TO EXERCISE OR HAVE SEX UNTIL BLEEDING STOPS AND SENT ME ON MY WAY.. COOL THANKS.. THE NURSE COULD HAVE TOLD ME THAT OVER THE PHONE. KAISER NEEDS TO LET HIM GO NOW AND NOT HAVE ME WASTE MY INSURANCE DOLLARS ON A TUNED OUT DOCTOR WHO CLEARLY DOESN'T CARE AND SEE'S HIS PATIENTS AN ANOTHER NAME AND NUMBER ON A CHART...

Do not go to this doctor! Horrible, unprofessional and rude. I felt extremely uncomfortable in the way he talked to me and checked me. I wished my husband was with me during the check up, perhaps he would have been more professional, I'm even considering talking with the head of his department in person. This doctor should be banned from the medical field.

VERY KIND

Doesn't spend time with you. Always feel like he is in a rush and you are bothering him with questions

I went for an appointment with Dr. Clayton because my wedding was less than 1 month away, and my period was behaving erratically. I wanted to make sure that I won't get my period on my wedding day, and one way to do that is to take a birth control pill and skip the placebo week. I explained to him that I wanted the progesterone-only pill because taking combined-hormone birth control pills has caused me to have pain with intercourse in the past. I wasn't making this up - it was diagnosed by a pelvic spain specialist at UCLA before I had Kaiser. Dr. Clayton told me he doesn't know of any link between combined-hormone birth control pills and pain. He also said that the progesterone-only pill isn't as effective at preventing pregnancy. I tried to explain to him that I'm getting married, and it's ok if I get pregnant (only a 5% chance with this pill). He still refused. Basically I was choosing the type of birth control I wanted to take, there was no medical risk associated with my… choice, and he refused. After 30 minutes of arguing with him (and keep in mind, I have a Masters degree in Biochemistry - I was using every scientifically valid reason I had), I finally had to give up. I ended up scheduling an appointment with another doctor and she prescribed me the progesterone-only pill immediately. Thankfully, it was just in time to stop my period before my wedding. I would never recommend Dr. Clayton to anyone.
